Gravitating more towards the musical sound and value of the album then strictly just the lyrics. When I was a teen, I would be amped as hell for a new GZA, Rae, Mega, Nas album because of the message and the grimey sound behind it. But I feel as I grow older my taste has drastically changed. I am more drawn in now by fantastic production, unique song writing, and a sonically produced album than lyrics. Now don't get me wrong, I still appreciate lyricism and think it's one of the most important things in music today but I just feel more attatched to a better sounding product then great lyrics and average production.

I just feel like I really feel an album with a direction, sorta like a good film. The Kid Cudi album is set to have unique production and an overall different direction, which I think will make me enjoy it a lot. That goes for Blueprint 3, Drake's upcoming album and a few others. On a non hip hop side of things I think this applies to Maxwell's latest album, which I feel is one of the best produced albums to come along this year. Just a rant...

Personally the sort of music Im into (Uk Hardcore/trace/general electronica) the lyrics dont really mean much.

I used to listen to a bit of rap though, still do every so often and lyrics are pretty important. Like Biggys lyrics always feel like they flow and mean something.
