A quick sharp hit to the jaw at a specific angle that rattles their head (brain) is the best way.

Well I think a hook to the chin is usually the best. Rocks the head and turns off the lights.

Uppercut.

Strong enough and you'll cause whiplash.

Uppercut by far.

Strong enough and you'll cause whiplash.

:lol1:

No, side to side head movement is much more dangerous to the brain than backwards forwards.

99% of knockouts in boxing are from hooks.

Well you can take shots to the chin straight on but if you get hit by one that hit's your jaw and twists and rattles your brain especially if you don't see it your gonna be screwed.

Ya bar fights with a bunch of swinging drunks isn't the best example but it's one way to KO someone if you watched the video I posted.

I think uppercut would do more damage though?

Granted, where you place your punches is important, but I believe that when it comes to scoring knockouts, "when" you places your punches is equally as important as "where." The only KO I've ever scored was a straight right to the solar plexus.

I don't know the stats, but nearly all brain injuries sustained in road traffic accidents are caused by side on collisions.
If you get hit up the rear end then you'll either get whiplash or a bleeding arsehole.

Unconscious? Or just knocked them down for the 10 count?

I assumed the thread starter meant knocked unconscious.

Talking about uppercuts, just reminded me of that.

I'll have to uppercut someone and see how much damage I do.

:lol1:

I think that hiding them right under the chin, rocking the head back like that and then it shooting forwards again because of your shoulders would be worse?

But meh.

The closer to the centre line of the chin that you hit.......in a hooking motion i'm talking about......the easier the knockout.

Akucapri
08-30-2009, 04:54 PM
I think it's more of a swipe or round motion than just a straight punch through the side of the chin, the faster, cleaner the shot the more likely they will be dazzed or KO'd.

That's a poor example as Lewis had dealt him with a flurry of hooks and straight rights before the knockdown. Plus he wasn't unconscious, just very dazed.

I've always wanted to get a ko with a liver shot, but, I have not succeeded. I don't know If I'm missing the target or just not enough on it. But I'd love to ko someone w/ a body shot.

I've kd'd a few to the solar plexus and have been kd'd with it as well.

My only ko was when I unleashed a counter-right leg roundhouse to the dude's head, it landed right on his temple. Dude, was out cold before he was about to hit the ground, but, the ref realized he was already out cold and grabbed him before he would've hit the ground.

When I connected, I knew I nailed him, but, didn't realized that I ko'd him, until the ref/doctors/his team was checking him out on the mat.

Not necessarily. The one time I've ever been 'hurt' by a punch I had ringing in my ears. But you can also just get hit right on the ear and get ringing in them without being dazed. Just the force of the punch puts alot of pressure on your eardrum.

A few slashing lefts, to blind the eyes, then a firm right handed blow to the gut always brings a man down. Why, back in nineteen dickety six, i boxed 68 bareknuckled rounds with Young ****eye in a muddy field in the pouring rain. He gave me a jolly good whacking for the first 56 rounds, dropping me 40 times, but i came roaring back in the 57th and then we boxed on even terms for 10 rounds, until in the 68th round of a brutal bout, I delivered a peach of a right to his gut that brought the tough **** eyed stable hand to his knees, forcing a KO victory.
