Did you hear when Merchant said he spoke to Oscar and DeLahoya said that he was weighing only 150 pounds and might move back to Welterweight. Think of all the great fights we could see. DeLahoya vs Floyd, Zoo, Spinks, Judah, Cintron, Margarito, Harris, Cotto

Yeah I was glad to hear that - DLH v Floyd , or a more mature Cotto would be spectacular - HBO has all those fighters and can do it - and everyone wants to see those...

Dont know about that one. He isnt the fighter he once was. If he drops back down he'll be better but none of those fighters are pushovers.

Oscar has tasted middelweight power and decided it wasn't for him, at welter he'll give us some exciting fights... does anybody think he wants Spinks so he can be undisputed at 147?

You guys are crazy. When was the last time Oscar looked great. He got KO by Hopkins. He really lost to Strum. He lost twice to Shane. He lost to Tito. The only decent fighter he's really beat in a long time was a washed up steriod using Vargas. He will have trouble with all those guys and he would lose to atleast one of them. He's older now, He's slower now, and he's less aggresive. No matter what, he's not going to be the same Oscar who was there last time, just like Mosley wouldnt dominate if he dropped down to 140. There older. Theve lost confedence And fighters dont fear them.

Of course Oscar makes 147. He only weighed like 155/156 against Hopkins. I think he`d be able to come in strong at 147. But the division isn`t a walk over. I give Oscar an edge over Forest but i think Spinks beats him. He`s just too young and too fast.

i am a huge Oscar fan, but I don't like this idea. 160 is not a good idea for him either, but he has plenty of options at 154. Wright and Trinidad are right there for him. All he has to do is pick up the phone. Beating the welters will do nothing for him. I hope he gets wise and stops this nonsense.

this could be good but this sounds typical dlh talk...1 day he implies a hpkins rematch isn't impossible, and then he's gonna move back to 147. He's a great fighter but outside the ring I find it difficult to believe him whatever he says he can deny the next day!!

I think this is what he needed to do a while ago. Lets face it, DLH, Mosley, Mayorga have not done well moving up in weight. These guys have been chasing the money and losing one simple fact.....there is a reason they started at the lower weights, THEY ARE SMALL!

I want to see the Mosely of 135lbs and the Oscar 147lbs or the Mayorga the scared the crap of his opponents at 147lbs.

I'm not convinced Oscar is sincere about this, but if he is, he may start a trend in the right direction.

-Roy Jones Jr. I had the same thing in mind? Made me wanna gag, it's equivalent to John Kerry and Edwards when they were on the front page of I believe People magazine and were dubbed as the " Sunshine boys"(lol). I wonder what name we should give " Who's your daddy" Hopkins and " I'm Bernard's *****" Oscar, how about the "Get-along Gang". Yeah we should also throw in the Mike Tyson who was wiping sweat or blood off of Lennox Lewis at the post-fight interview, damn I would never wanna get a beatdown like Oscar and Tyson and endup kissing ass to the guy who just whup my ass.

lot of ppl aint givin credit to DLH

he techniquelly lost his last 2 fights only

he won tha sturm but he really lost n i will admit it
and hopkins lost to

he got robbed against TITO definately n outboxed shane(maybe not tha 1st time)

he should fight forrest and mayorga, mosley (IF THEY GO DOWN IN WEIGHT)
and give them boxing lessons

i dont think spinks could outbox
do u guys rememeber how fast dlh was at 147 u prolly dont cuz it's been so long and when u think of DLH u think of tha one that fought sturm or hopkins

That's funny stuff...but it would have been even worse if De La Hoya was a trash talker before the fight..

Out of the three I give Cotto the worse chance at beating a fighter like De La Hoya..

It would be a great thought to see DLH going back to Super Welter or Welter. But it will be tough for him to do this and still be the same fighter he was when he left, usually when fighters do drop weight classes they feel weaker. Examples: Roy Jones vs. Tarver 1&2(dropped from HW to LHW), Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Terry Norris(Dropped from LHW to SWW)....

man that would be great DLH back at 147
ofcourse he wont be the same 147dlh from b4
but i think he still has enough to rule for a good while

It'd be great if oscar went back down to 147 or 154 for that matter. I'd like to see him fight Wright. And another thing...I don't see why a fighter has to move up in weight all the bloody time!! If you're comfortable at lightweight oor whatever division you're in then stay at it...I think all this moving up all the time is BS. Look at Hopkins, he stayed the same weight all the way through and his career is going fine isn't it? Mosley should've stayed at the lower weights instead of moving up. The only reason, I would move up would be for a big money fight, then I'd go straight back down to where I was most comfortable and competitive at.

Don't think DLH should go back to 147. His best option for him right now is definitely at 154 - a title shot with Winky Wright. Think that he has a very good chance of beating Wright.

I hope DLH is able to and really does move back down to 147. There would be some very competitive matches for him there.
