View Full Version : Car problem NO KEYS!
m00ks 03-02-2005, 03:46 PM K, basically my sis lent me her friend's car while both of them were in the Dominican. Old ****box civic hatchback. I lost the keys and there's no ****ing spare! They're cleaning the streets in about 4 HOURS and I need to move the car. But even if I open the car I'll need another set of keys to replace the other one. Hot-wiring is out of the question. I can't call CAA (Canada's AAA) cuz it ain't even my car. They said they need the owner.
Anybody has any information on how to get an extra set of keys when you lost all of yers or how to open a car with a hanger would help. I'd just push the car wiuth my friends till they clean teh street and I'll figure it out from there.

Just tell them its your car so they come over and get started. The registration is in the glove box inside the car so you have to get in to prove it. If its your sis's and you have the same last name it shouldt be a problem. It actually shouldnt be a problem no matter what. Those guys dont give a ****. Hopefully you only need 1 key to get in and the ignition so it will only cost like 50 bucks or so.

Well it's under my sister's friend's fathers name lol But anyweyz, the locksmith that I have to call is it a private company? And yah you only need one key for the door and ignition. The locksmith would make me a key on spot?

Just get out the phonebook or look one up on Yahoo yellowpages. They will come out with a van and do it right there.
puppy_dogg 03-02-2005, 04:59 PM they can make keys without doing it from a copy?
anyone know how they do that. i think local police will come out and jimmy the door open if you dont want to pay a locksmith
I have heard that if you just take the VIN # to a dealership you can get a dpulicate key no questions asked. Probably some urban legend thit though. I would just go outside and explain to the streetcleaner the deal and tell him to skip cleaning that spot. :)

not my car. Police would never do it if I'm not the owner

what I meant by cleaning the street is plowing the snow. I can't really ask them cuz they usually push all the snow from one end of the street to the other and pick up the snow at the street corners. Oh yah, the cleaners are french quebecers  . They hate immigrants, well most of them

yah Ima try that **** thanx
The Phantom Menace 03-02-2005, 08:30 PM I saw this episode on 20/20 how thieves were taking the vin# of cars and going to dealerships and getting keys. Sometimes the dealership would give them a set of keys without asking any questions whatsoever. You may want to give it a try, send someone who doesn't look like a criminal preferably a female and you have a better chance at this.
Dr.Depravity 03-02-2005, 09:16 PM Im not sure what the door locks look like on that type of car. You may try a coat hanger, theres not real science to hit, just hit and miss. Does it have electric locks? Try using the coat hanger to hit the button. If not Usually imports have the siding locks, hard to hook on to and move. Can you "rake the lock on one of the doors, just so you can push it? Im not sure exactly how to do it, check the net on lock raking. You will damage the lock though. Replacement from a junkyard shouldn't be too exspensive.
