Morales-Barrera feud update!

The well documented animosity between Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera is alive and well. Barrera recently extended a fig leaf to rival Erik Morales by saying "I’m rooting for Morales [to beat Filipino Manny Pacquiao] because as Mexicans we have to root for one another." However Morales is having none of it. "He can say something in public and we know he doesn't believe it for a minute," said Morales today. "He wants to see me get beat just as much as anybody. I don't even think about it. I could care less what he thinks." So does Erik have negative feelings toward March 19 opponent Manny Pacquiao? "I can not be thinking about that," commented Morales. "I have really nothing against him. All I know is that he represents a very important part of my career. This bout is very important to me. That's why I need to win."

Hard to tell who is being real, Erik or MAB. Morales does come off as a dick, though.

Styles make fights and Morales is just as big as obstacle for Pac as Pac is to Morales.

IMO, Barrera is talking **** about mexicans rooting for mexicans... you can't do that in boxing... especially when you have been in three fights with that same person... and will his opinion matter??? even if erik wins, he still has to prove something against pac... he already knows he has erik's numbers but pac is still up and coming, so he better shut his mouth and beat pac in their rematch...

I like what Morales was doing before in that he didn't just forgive Barrera after sucker punching him during the press conference but he may be wrong this time, Pacquiao did whoop Barrera pretty well so he might actually be rooting for Morales. Seems like Morales hates Barrera alot more than Barrera does Morales, unless Barrera is just being fake out in public.

The way that Morales disrespected Barrera wasn't right. Marco Antonio Barerra deserves respect. Morales showed no class by disrespecting him. I can see why Barrera holds a grudge.

Well, at least one of them is trying to put aside their personal beef for their mutal love of their country. I'm interested in seeing where this one goes, to be honest. I don't forsee it going anywhere good.
