Just remember: Nick Nolte and Gary Busey are the same thing. So if you list them both, it's only counted as 1 actor.

I don't really have many favorites, but Robert Duvall is good.

I think you have Nick Nolte confused with John Elway :D

Nah, he had it right...They do look alike, except Busey's teeth look like Chicklets (The Gum..)

im surprised there's only 1 guy with Denzel, he's gotta be up there, along with Al Pacino, Bobby Deniro, Edward Norton for sure, just to name a few. But c'mon, how you gonna knock Denzel ever again after Training Day. Oh, and Tom Cruise, moreso for his recent work, Collateral was awesome, he played a great villain.

Tom Hanks and Morgan Freeman are the best actors that I've seen in my lifetime.

After them comes: Mel Gibson, Don Cheadle, Tom Cruise, Edward Norton, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Daniel Day Lewis, Denzel Washington, Jeff Bridges, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tim Robbins...just off the top of my head.

As far as actresses go, I really like Scarlet Johanssen right now. All-time has to go to Meryl Streep. Outside of "The Next Karate Kid"...Hilary Swank is an excellent actress and her body looked bangin in that dress at the Oscars.

Yeah someone recognized my boy Sean Penn.
I've got to be more selective because, well, I'm a student direct, writer, actor, editor, etc. There is a difference in good actors and good performers.

Okay in no order:

Pacino
De Niro
Sean Penn
Patricia Arquette
Kevin Bacon
Kevin Spacey
Reese Witherspoon
Ben Kingsley (Sexy Beast was great)
Dafoe
Tom Sizemore
Liotta
Gary Cole (Lumbergh ****ed her)
Buschemi
Brad Pitt
Dennis Farina
Jason Stathum (sp?)

Okay anybody from Snatch

The whole main cast of Requiem for a Dream, ****ing awesome.
don't let Marlon Wayans fool you. The guy CAN actually act.

Robert Englund

Actors I don't like (there are tons so I'll list a few):
Steven Seagal
Vin Diesel
Nicolas Cage
Sinbad
Jack Black
Amy from Everybody Loves Raymond
Nicole Kidman - well just pissed at her for STEALING Reese Witherspoon's role of Samantha for the movie Bewitched. Oh well, the film will suck anyhow.

Cruise, Pitt, and Depp are already there. Crowe is close enough. Cuba I threw out personally after Snow Dogs and Boat Trip.

I'm glad you listed Kingsley. He might be the best pure actor of everyone I've seen. He almost NEVER does a bad job in any of his films. His performances in Ghandi and House of Sand and Fog were excellent...especially Ghandi.

Even for Freeman and Hanks there was Dreamcatcher and Joe vs. The Volcano.

Hanks pussied out in the mid 1990s. I can't imagine sitting through Cast Away or The Terminal or You Got Mailed.

But I still fondly remember Bachelor Party, Big & Turner & Hooch. Anything past Apollo 13 and I've probably purposely avoided it...

...I forgot Toy Story 2. But you get my point (though apparently it doesn't reflect the board favorites...)(here's where I'd place a smilie if I did that type of thing...)

Philadelphia, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan...all great mid-90's performances by Hanks.

He also has the crossover appeal with the ladies (Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Terminal etc...)

Cast Away wasn't THAT bad where you wouldn't be able to sit through it. I enjoyed it enough.

I can't stand Tom Hanks. And it isn't anything against him personally. it is just that effect where everyone else loves him so damn much (why don't you all go marry him, you love him so damn much) that I hate him.

Another actor who hasn't been mentioned (maybe because he is concidered a comedian first) but who is extremely versitile an in my opinion a fabulous actor is Robin Williams.

My biggest problem with Cast Away was that it seemed like a 2 hour advertisement for Federal Express.
