it saddens me to see there is more and more insults being traded and less and less boxing discussed.

This place at times is turning into a war zone and we could do without it, if people put as much thought into their boxing analysis as they do their insults (though i do admit some are funny) the this would be the Bible of boxing websites.

As it is, its pretty thin on displays of boxing knowledge at times and i know some of you guys are better than that.

I think we need to up the ante here people lets talk more boxing and less insults and verbals.

If the knowledge that some of you have could come to the fore it really would help attract some more high brow posters, maybe even fighters and trainers. I know it happens on other sites, so how cool would that be you could actually discuss careers and fights with the people involved maybe even some of your heroes. :cool:

I absolutely agree. Sometimes there are just no threads without any of this bashing. I come here to discuss and learn, not to see people engage in petty arguments over the same crap that they have been talking about for months. It has really soured me on the board. I haven't been here that long and I like it here but it is getting ridiculous.

I also agree that the people who have deep boxing knowledge need to use it more. I myself have not followed long enough to give a lot of insight, but I try to when I feel I can. Those who have been following for a while could make this board great by offering up knowledge that would help us all learn a thing or two.

Im not saying we cant have fun and a bit of good hearted banter never hurt anyone, I know ive been guilty in the past of "letting people have it" but Im gonna try and stop raise above it and try and impart what I do or dont know in some cases.

I think its apprent its pissing Rick off and without being smarmy or ass kissing he puts a lot of work in here and deserves better on the boards.

At least we got a nucleus of guys here who know thier stuff and we can help turn it aroudn guys, its just takes a bit of discipline and little thought.

yes I couldn't agree more . I used to go on a french boxing site, fighters were posting sometimes and stopped I guess because of childish arguments and insults.
But I feel it's getting better compared with a few months ago :)

It's good to see someone with a sense of humor who didn't take my comments on UK fighters to heart...I admit I have been sucked into that whole smack talk thing lately...It all starts when some one makes a statement about one of your favorite fighters then you feel the need to retaliate with a statement of your own...Most of the smacktalk comments I have made on here have been in jest...For the sake of this site though not going to **** with too much smack talk, in the future I will try to stop engaging in it myself. Smack talk is fun sometimes but not when it takes over the forum and you want a serious discussion. But yes I have been guilty as charged. :chomp:

Honestly I can't remember one time where I came on this site to do anything but talk boxing, I don't even think I have stated one fight.

I just ignore the childish name calling and I don't allow myself to get sucked into it either. Some posters put up racist remarks as well and that makes the site a lot less fun. But the problem is that we have too many people who can't stand it when somebody has the unmitigated temerity to disagree with them. Disagreement is part of being a fan of any sport, but I refuse to waste my time with school kids, whose boxing knowlege begins at Tyson and ends at Lewis, who want to spit racist remarks and bicker when their limited knowlege of the sport is exposed.

Unfortunately not enough people feel that way. I find less and less reason to even log on anymore, and I used to post atleast 3 hr's a day, every day. It's a shame, cause I really enjoyed it. Now I just dont care so much about posting and/or keeping up with the threads. Hopefully things will chill out before long and go back to normal?? :confused:

Your posts are way too long and boring. Try to be more readable and less british.

I have observed that a good number of posters here are so loose in using foul language. If you post something they don't like or don't agree with, they easily let out a flurry (no, make that a blizzard!) of "f..k" and "s..t", angry tirades and diatribes, racial slurs, sexual bashings and even insults as they think they're more superior to others when it comes to boxing.

I remember once, I tried to restrain a poster from being so foul and rude. But instead of refraining, I got a dose of even more f..k and s..t stuff from the guy! :mad:

Why do these people enjoy using foul words at every opportunity? Beats me really. Jokes are readily appreciated while insufficient knowledge can be tolerated. Wouldn't it be a nicer world out here in these forum if posters were more friendly and civil in their language and more respectful of other's views? It didnt used to be the way it is now..makes you wonder how much it has to do with all the "newbies"...'back in the day' we may have disagreed with each other, but nobody called anybody else trialer trash, inbred skank, food stamp recipitent, oh God, the list goes on and on! :eek: If they had, I would have possibly thrown in the towel long ago...too damn many females have already been run off this site, so thats the main reason I was determined to stick it out; I'm stubborn that way! I have read soem of my old posts and they don't accurately represent who I am. I really don't display by boxing knowledge or knowledge on anything. It's partly because I talk better than I type, so I often result to using one liners and a lot of vulgarity, because some of the stuff said here is just rediculous...I actually startd a thread on being nicer and not fighting with anyone, but then I got called gay and had to start talking crazy again, but I agree that more about boxing should be talked about, but it would be a lot less entertaining if the insults and arguments stopped completely...

I think that nsb has gotten a lot better since you first made this thread, JPW. I've noticed a lot more good boxing talk and less petty squabbling...of course the might all chance again as we get close to Mayweather's clobbering of Gatti...not to mention Tszyu - Hatton :boxing: .

Unfortunately it's not that easy. There are some people who come here just to make trouble. The reply to every post with some stupid **** designed to egg people on. And sometimes they'll harass you and harass you until you finally lose it. It happens here all the time.

If it was just a matter of a few idiots posting stupid **** now and then then it wouldn't be a problem. But when it's the case of people intentionally trying to piss others off it's a lot harder to deal with.

Getting personal is one thing alot of people around here are good at, and have no trouble resorting to when they lack a better argument. I dont see that changing any time soon unfortunately!

There is no limit as for getting banned cause of insults unless you get into rascisim. thats about it

And you can get banned for discussing certain religious doctrines too. And certain nationalities and countries.
