View Full Version : Mayweather v Marquez U.K TV? PrettyBoy22 08-28-2009, 08:58 AM What channels is going to be on? Savino 08-28-2009, 09:04 AM Sky Sports have the rights to it but not sure if they are puttin it on SBO. AndyShitHot 08-31-2009, 08:30 AM Yeah it was Sky Box Office when the fight was originally slated for July but now there is no mention as what they are doing with it. If it's box office i'll probably pay for it just because i'm not paying my Setanta subscription anymore and at this point i'll just pay for any boxing I can get with the TV-Boxing situation is so dire in the UK at the moment. PrettyBoy22 08-31-2009, 09:17 AM I've heard its on SS1. The Gully Gad 08-31-2009, 10:25 AM Im not paying for no sky sports **** is crap regardless of what fights they try and add they will soon get bored and concentrate on there true love which is Football I got my stream site thats all i need then i download the torrent the next day for my collection..... Amen Gully, see ya on the night big man! gingeralbino 08-31-2009, 10:46 AM I've heard its on SS1. i dont see anything about the fight on the sky website PrettyBoy22 08-31-2009, 10:57 AM Apparently it says it in the sky magazine (i don't have it so cannot actually confirm that) AndyShitHot 08-31-2009, 11:20 AM i dont see anything about the fight on the sky website Yeah i've been checking Sky Sports website every week to see if they are gonna be showing the Super Six Tournament or any other boxing but they have no news on Mayweather-Marquez. This probably means that they haven't even made their own minds up yet, although if its gonna be box office then they need to decide soon and start plugging it as Friday Night Fights will be starting again this Friday and surely during the ad breaks for that would be a great way to start. As a non sky sports customer, I would rather actually see it on box office cos I would rather pay and be able to watch it on the big screen rather than a stream if I can. NorvernRob 08-31-2009, 11:24 AM There is nothing listed in the skymag, nor on Sky.com. This is the full list for September taken from Sky.com: Boxing live on Sky Sports Check out our live fight list - from both sides of the Atlantic Last updated: Friday 21st August 2009 SEPTEMBER Fri 4 Commonwealth featherweight title John Simpson v Paul Truscott 9.30pm Easton SC Middlesbrough Fri 11 British bantamweight title Gary Davies v Ian Napa English heavyweight title John McDermott v Tyson Fury 10.00pm Brentwood LC Brentwood Fri 18 British light-welterweight title Ajose Olusegan v Lenny Daws 10.00pm York Hall Bethnal Green So unless they change their minds it won't be shown. The Gully Gad 08-31-2009, 11:32 AM Amen Gully, see ya on the night big man! Yeh be great to see there also John... Will have a good one that night mate trust..... AndyShitHot 08-31-2009, 11:43 AM There is nothing listed in the skymag, nor on Sky.com. This is the full list for September taken from Sky.com: So unless they change their minds it won't be shown. Either that on they haven't decided yet whether it'll be on SS1 or SBO, it would be wierd if they didn't show the fight at all, especially after bringing both fighters over for a press tour when the fight was originally scheduled for July. AndyShitHot 08-31-2009, 11:46 AM Yeh be great to see there also John... Will have a good one that night mate trust..... Do you guys have some awesome secret stream site you wanna PM me a link to? ;) gingeralbino 08-31-2009, 12:34 PM Yeah i've been checking Sky Sports website every week to see if they are gonna be showing the Super Six Tournament or any other boxing but they have no news on Mayweather-Marquez. There gonna have to build on floyd before he can sell PPV in the UK Plus my stream site is showing it the original fight was going to be on Sky box office, thats why Floyd came over to England. Obviously it didnt sell if there now showing it on SS1 Trippy 09-02-2009, 09:26 PM Wish it was on SBO. I don't mind paying £15 for this fight rather than have to subscribe to SkySports for like 3 months at £34 a month. The Gully Gad 09-02-2009, 09:51 PM the original fight was going to be on Sky box office, thats why Floyd came over to England. Obviously it didnt sell if there now showing it on SS1 I heard different.. I heard there trying to build a fanbase over in the uk so the press tour was about promoting the fight on sky sports 1 not box office it was never intended for box office so they could build on floyds profile in hopes of dropping him on ppv for future big fights ie Pac/Cotto etc.. Savino 09-02-2009, 10:47 PM where? iv been looking all over the show for confirmation that this fight will be on british tv. found nothing. Sky Text. J-rich 09-13-2009, 07:58 PM 2am skysports 1 I just read . If you can't get Sky Sports i'm sure it will be streamed online onto a site like justin.tv It should be an interesting fight, i'm hoping for JMM. Spacey1991 09-13-2009, 08:17 PM If you can't get Sky Sports i'm sure it will be streamed online onto a site like justin.tv It should be an interesting fight, i'm hoping for JMM. It might be, but because its such a big fight all around... I think you will find all streams will be taken down. I have just ordered a month of Sky Sports just in case, this fight is worth it for me, if I think its worth it I will pay some money to watch it on the TV in good quality, then there isn't risk of it being taken down like a stream... S.G. 09-13-2009, 08:29 PM FUUUUUUUUUUUU so i'm gonna have to order a month of skysports damnit, you put bloody Khan on box office but not this!? **** you sky stilltharow 09-13-2009, 11:07 PM good thing its nt on sky box office because its copy written and i cant record it !!!! plus i got all the channels already i dnt need to waste any more money ordering it.,.. but then again if it was on box office i would have no choice but to order it lol Bigchill79 09-14-2009, 01:01 PM Hope Colin Hart is on. Best pundit on there. Dem Eyes 09-14-2009, 01:03 PM Hope Colin Hart is on. Best pundit on there. Probably not. He's not allowed on because he speaks the truth. :haha: timbatron 09-14-2009, 01:06 PM Hopefully Marquez lands a big punch and takes Mayweathers head off. But in all likeliness, Floyd will run for 12 rounds, and win a UD. Guarantee this will be a boring fight, but I'm gonna stay up in the hope that Marquez will land that one big shot. Bigchill79 09-14-2009, 01:08 PM Probably not. He's not allowed on because he speaks the truth. :haha: LOL. Nice on. :haha:. Maybe we should start a petition.. Sparked_1985 09-14-2009, 01:36 PM Balls, dunno where to watch this if it's on SS1. does anybody know if one of those official pay-per-streams might pick this up? Like the Froch fight? I'm all in favour of that, it was a great quality stream. I'm all in favour of that, it was a great quality stream. The will probaly be afew who will charge for it. I'm looking forward to it. already set it up on my sky+ along with the UFC. Hope Sky show the Juarez vs John and Katsidis vs Escebedo fight on there too. gingeralbino 09-14-2009, 02:09 PM Balls, dunno where to watch this if it's on SS1. does anybody know if one of those official pay-per-streams might pick this up? I don't know any pub opened past 2:00 a.m. I don't know how expensive a late licence is, but I'd imagine it's bloody expensive. All our pubs our brewery owned in London really. Real late-night drinking only exists in small towns and villages. When I was in Kerry a few weeks ago I was in a pub till 5 and 6 respectively. A family-run pub in a village will seemingly do whatever it pleases. No Londoner or city dweller is going to want to work past 2:00 a.m for somebody else. I wouldn't anyway. I'm sure you have a better crack at late night closes in pubs where you are. timbatron 09-14-2009, 03:39 PM Balls, dunno where to watch this if it's on SS1. does anybody know if one of those official pay-per-streams might pick this up? Savino 09-14-2009, 04:06 PM u got 24 hour drinking in england dont u (lucky bastards, us northern irish werent allowed it for some strange reason) got to the pub We don't have 24hour open bars but some locals do decide to have lock-ins which normally stays open til 6.30am. Well my local does anyways. Some weekends don't get out of their til around 6am. Normally when Hatto is on in at daft o'clock the fella stays open til the fight finishes but gotta know him well for him to let you stay behind. Casino's always stay open and they always show the big boxing events on Sky. toysale 09-14-2009, 04:09 PM I thought it was Sky SPorts 2... but I don't care what it's on. It's not PPV! And I was gonna buy it originally. sonnyboyx2 09-15-2009, 03:29 PM Mayweather vs Marquez is being shown on Sky Sports (1) 2.00-5.00 Live No1 09-15-2009, 07:26 PM Fingers crossed they show all the undercard. sky are quite good at the undercard fights, they get alot of them on. It's shapeing up to be a good card with escobedo vs katsidis (that will be good as all katsidis's fights are very entertaining) john vs juarez (interesting fight i wouldnt mind watching and of course the return of mayweather, not really bothered who wins but it will good to get mayweather back and see a great technical fight. dionysius 09-16-2009, 10:52 PM MARQUEZ WILL WIN:boxing: Sir Tom Jones 09-17-2009, 10:42 PM haven't got sky. back home on the weekend from uni. might have to stay down the mrs to watch it, at least download it first thing the next morning. S.G. 09-18-2009, 08:10 AM do you have to buy the box to subscribe to sky for a month or what |
