I have an iron gym pull up bar and the perfect pushup and i use it 3 times a week or every other day.

I do 6 sets of 30 on the pushups (each set done within 2 min)

Then i put on a 20llb weight vest and do 10 sets of 11 of the 4 different types of pullups (rest is about 2-4 minutes in between sets).

I am hoping to increase weekly.

What do you guys think and how can i improve thanks?

take off the weight vest and do 2 sets of 20-30 pull ups along with the other ones your doing. more so i would recommend not using the vest at all and doing 6 sets of 20-30 various pull ups instead.

the most i have done without the vest is 10 sets of 20, i like the vest it makes it much more difficult, why do you not recommend the vest?

urrrrm if you are doing pullups and pushups at the same time then that is wrong.. as you shouldnt train these 2 types of muscles at the same time.. bicep and tricep.

11's just not that many pull ups it will help build endurance to do a greater amount. you dont have to stop with the weights just throw 2 sets of 30 in their some where. me personally i like it with out weights because i can do more take shorter rests an do them more quickly.

I heard to develop explosive power, not sure if that's what you want, plyo pushups and pullups are better than regular ones.

How do do the plyo ones?

basically lifting your body after pushing or pulling motion, you can see examples in youtube.

You can do high or low rep pullups. Each way has it's own benefits and you should mix it up. I guess a lot of you'll are familiar with rosstraining and in one of his books he outlines the following as a mini-circuit during one of the sample strength workouts.

Weighed pull-ups: 5 reps
Rest 45-60 seconds
Weighted push ups: 15 reps
Rest 45-60 seconds
Repeat x 4

For *****s it is, I train the same way you do. So I don't think its wrong, maybe for weak people it is.

pullups are mainly back with some emphasis on biceps, and pushups are mainly chest with some tricep.

You will probably be fine doing them on the same day but you would get better results doing one one day then one another day

Again, says who? Full body workouts work just as well for most people as splits.

I like push ups.I can do 1 arm elbow in , beatskills.com and the clap behind the back.Working on the double clap.I'm concentrating on skill and conditioning more tho but a we strength routine once a week doesn't do any harm.I do about 50 to 100 as part of my conditioning circuit and the squat thrust because I ain't got the space for burpee doubles the pushups.Explosive and fingertip ones are good as well.

Not necessarily. Plyo Push Ups are very broad.

It can be done with a medicine ball, you can clapping push-ups, it can involve a quick switch it the position of your hands, doing them with one arm etc.

Plyometrics in general are very broad and aren't restricted to one type of push up in this case
