View Full Version : Does Danny Williams make for exciting fights?
!! Anorak 03-01-2005, 12:27 PM ... because you can never have enough Danny Williams threads, can you?
Seriously though, I was watching a bit of the Tyson fight the other day and the crowd were on their feet when he was standing there trading with Tyson in round two... something you don't often see in Heavyweight bouts these days.
Then there was Big Klit knocking seven shades of crap out of him... who else would have kept getting up for more? Big Mike? Ruiz?
So does he make for exciting fights?
BrooklynBomber 03-01-2005, 12:30 PM Well he definately makes for exciting falls ;)
elveiel 03-01-2005, 12:32 PM Yeah, he either KO's someone or gets KO'd himself.
He'd make a good fight against most of the top heavys, i dont know how many he'd win though :D

He'd make a good fight against most of the top heavys, i dont know how many he'd win though :DYeah, I'd definitely be interested to find out. He needs to go in with one he probably would win first though (Brewster) I mean, if he got hugged to death by Ruiz he'd definitely be out in the cold...

I dont blame Ruiz, the last time i watched him trying to box was against Tua :D
hitterwitter 03-01-2005, 12:48 PM Frank Warren said the winner of Matt Skelton Vs Danny Williams which will happen this summer, will get a world title shot.

Whats he talking about, Skeltons already a genuine WBU world champion
Seriously, i think their both good enough to get a world title shot, thats not because their really good, its because the heavyweight division is so poor.

I can't see Skelton beating anyone of class though.
Mr. Ryan 03-01-2005, 01:12 PM Danny Williams is garbage. He ko'ed a faded Tyson. His performance on 12-11-04 showed how he measures up to boxing's elite.

Bollocks. How can you compare the rest of the division with Klitschko?

Bollocks? What do the Sex Pistols have to do with this?
hitterwitter 03-01-2005, 01:24 PM Klitschko is the best in the division by a long way, but there is 3 other world titles he can go for.

I was watching the Cotto-Corley post-fight on camera Saturday, and Larry Merchant was speaking about the various title belts that are handed out to these fighters, and the diminished value of being a contendor. I think Chris Byrd and John Ruiz are contendors, not champs, and that they're belts aren't worth the leather, let alone the gold, they are made of.

Certainly he'll have been up against hard hitters, as his last two fights attested.

Um, not to change the topic, but whats with the gay stuff? Did you come out?
!! Anorak 03-01-2005, 01:41 PM Um, not to change the topic, but whats with the gay stuff? Did you come out?I lost a bet. 19 days to go.

Oh, my bad. I haven't been on here in some time and simply thought you were gay or something. Yeah, but Williams can be a heavyweight contendor if he gets with Don King. That guy can do anything for a heavyweight.
abdiel2k3 03-01-2005, 01:46 PM i guess
ive only seen him n tyson andn Vit
and those were pretty entertaining
altho i dont know if he could keep up those kinda "fights"
BadMagick 03-01-2005, 01:48 PM I don't see why people get so big about Williams KOing Tyson. They all ignore the fact that Tyson tore a ligament in his knee that fight, which took away so much of his power, not to mention his ability to stand up.
I didn't see the Williams-Klitscho fight, but I heard he was knocked around like crazy.
I guess if you like seeing one guy get pummled all fight long, or KOing someone with a bad knee, then yes. Otherwise, the fights aren't very "exciting."
Nocontact 03-01-2005, 02:29 PM I think if you enjoy seeing someone experiencing brain damage on live tv then yes, he makes very entertaining fights.
theironone 03-01-2005, 02:35 PM I don't think he's exciting at all, he's got heart and is big, at least he keeps getting up, and before anyone tries i've been watching him fight for years, he's too unpredictable mentaly, Tyson was so shot against him he may aswell been a punching bag, and Klit is the best of a bad bunch and he dominated him from the 1st minute
reality 03-01-2005, 07:20 PM He was in a stinker with Sprott, he hardly threw a punch and then was in that exciting brawl with Tyson. I have a feeling its down to motivation. Dissapointed me in his challenge to Vitali though, he was so overweight.
Nocontact 03-01-2005, 07:27 PM Ok, maybe not competitive but it can be 'exciting' to watch someone getting beaten like that, if nothing else just to see how long he can take it for.
Slipx 03-01-2005, 07:52 PM Williams makes exciting fights when somebody tries to take him out, then it's a good fight, because he has a good chin, and good survival instincts. When he gets punched hard, he comes on strong.
