Just thought some of you guys might be interested in this, i have been talking to Roy Harris daughter on line for a bit after I uploaded some old video footage of him training and she sent me a few of his boxing posters signed by Roy. One of them was a fight between him and former heavyweight champion Ezzard Charles, Apparently the fight was all signed but was cancelled 4 days before it was supposed to take place.

Ezzard Charles was a fantastic fighter and IMO he would be too much for Roy Harris who was decent enough

Correct me if I'm wrong but Roy Harris was hitting his prime pushing the late 50s or early 60s. A fight with Charles would have taken place any time post-Marciano, in which case Harris would have beaten the great Cincinnati Cobra by then.

Any idea why the fight were cancelled?
