Why would they want to have Cotto-Corley 2? He had to kill himself to make weight. That tells you right there that he only has a couple of fights left in him at 140. Why would you waste time fighting Chop again? What can he gain from fighting a dangerous guy like Chop? The first fight was in PR and Cotto had a 17 pound weight advantage. This fight will be in the US and Cotto might come in at 154 and Chop at 147. What if Chop had never been softened up by Zab and Floyd. He probally wouldve beat Cotto.

People are overlooking Cotto's defense. Everyone said he has great defense but I dont see it. He got hit by so many clean shots from Chop. You can say it was because he was southpaw but look at the other fights. Pinto was outboxing him from the outside, N'Dou landed alot of clean shots on him, and people always talk about how Cotto killed the smaller Sosa but they forget to mention that Sosa was landed alot of shots and Cotto. He was firing combos and getting the best of the exchanges early on but the size was just too much for him. Cotto has a problem with speed guys, thats why he would never beat guys like Floyd or Zab.

People say that it was the same when Chop hurt Floyd but it wasnt even close. Chop stunned Floyd but he was only dazed for a second and if you guys remember right, Floyd came right back at him and won the round but Cotto was out on his feet. He didnt land 5 punches the rest of the round. He was in retreat the whole time and very wobbeley. If the ref didnt stop it, I think Chop still couldve won. The only reason he went down the second time is because Cotto hit him while he was down the first time and he wasnt all the way clear.

Cotto might be another Tito but he doesnt look anything like it right now. He looks like a guy who is getting by on his power against smaller B and less level fighters. Floyd is the only small top fighter at 140 but he is very good. The rest of the guys are just as big as Cotto. He will have a very tough time and 147 looks like too much for him right now. Maybe his handlers know this and thats why he's fighting at 140

I dont see the good in this rematch for Cotto. He is fighting a dangerous guy who he could lose to and if he wins, no one will give him any special credit for it. He should fight Harris.

DLT....are you really moonlighting as Cotto? No offense, but you must have started about 20 or more Cotto related threads in the last two days.

This is what everyone does when someone fights. In paticular the guys who are very popular on the message boards. I wasnt going to make any more until I found out that he was giving Chop a rematch

Yeah too bad its the same five people out of a forum of 150 browsing that spam the broad two days in a row talking bad about Cotto, starting all these dumb threads, it doesnt make you look good. He will fight him again, same weight as him, to KO him so you can stop making threads about him.

**** what you guys say just because it isnt something posative about your boy. I have made 8 Cotto threads since the fight and 4 have been about just other fights like Cotto vs Harris, Witter, etc... 2 of them have been very good threads where I was defending him moreso then his die hard fans and this one is asking why he would take a high risk, low reward fight in Chop. So you guys can shove it. Let me check you guys profile and see how many threads you have made about Cotto and others, clowns.

You guys make a hundred Cotto threads and now when he doesnt perform great then you dont want to see any. **** that, take the bitter with the sweet

Im not sure what answer your looking for to satify you, unless you want someone who loved cotto bfore the corley to say, they are utterly dissapinted and feel defeated(aint gonna happen tho).I just skimmed over your post because Ive read your other ones and i get what youre saying by now,You did mention however that your wetrent impressed by his def, that he got hit with too many clean shots.EXACTLY,that was the problem, cotto came out fighting to his weaknesses, musta been the hometown crowd, you make it sound like this is how he has fought all his fihts tho,and thats not the case. Its obvious thats not the case, cotto made that mistake THIS fight.Yes he got hit by Ndou/sosa too,but there werent really clean shots, and cotto built up a solid early lead in both those fights,he didnt take the time/patience to build up that lead against corley,at all.I remember i think in the 9th against Ndou ,Ndou had cotto against the ropes and hit him with what looked like a fierce punch, but it looked that way because cotto leaned so far back, and although the punch connected,it really didnt have anything behind it at that point.

All of that stuff was just my opinoin. The main question that I was asking is why is Cotto fighting Chop again when that is a high risk low reward fight. What do you think about it? I think if he loses then obviously thats bad but if he wins no one will give him any special credit for it. Thats the main point I was getting at

Well the corley fight will go down on his record as a major blemish, if he continues what he's been doing before that fight, What will everyone still ask? "What about corley?" I mean the only thing he has to gain is respect, and if he loses he stands to lose it all(credibility/a shot at a big fight). So i mean, I dont really see him being able to avoid that **** forever, Im not clamoring for it,but i think the people kinda demand it,fans make fights/champs.i was surprised by cotto,at how stupid he fought, the after the bell hits, etc. He's a fighter i could rely on to keep his cool,so Im eager to see how cotto fights next, I think that that will be his decisive fight,in that it'll show if cotto really is a smart fighter ( that just need to stop fighting in puerto rico :P ) I guess the only way i see cotto avoiding cotto-corley2 is by moving up in weight and looking impressive in his fights,or to staty at his current weight and dominate there,in which case,if he took apart better fighters than corley, nobody would ask , what about corley? Cotto-Corley would be considered a fight where cotto fought a dumb fight,as hopefully, is the case. :boxing:

hahaaaaaaa

DLT - i'll say this. that i was utterly dissapointed in cotto's performance this saturday night. he was available to be hit all night and had he been in there w/ anyone more offensively minded, he'd a been in a lot of trouble. but ... i don't think that any cotto fan can say that version of cotto in there on saturday night was the one we've all come to appreciate. he wasn't his usual patient, counter-punching, hands high, chin low, 3-4 punch combo self. dude really got caught up in the moment fighting in PR and trying to knock chop out.

u know, being from DC, when i saw cotto dazed .... i wanted chop to clean him out. cotto's ability to stay on his feet when he was clearly out on his feet made me like him even more, very important lesson that chop taught him.

in summary, i think everyone has a bad night, dlh had 'um early on in his career, tito, hopkins and a plethora of other greats. cotto had a "D" performance on saturday but i'm still convinced that hes the real deal.

where'd u hear that they were fighting again? is it a done deal?

While Cotto has respectable power and knows how to throw to the body properly, I don't have respect for him for the sole reason that he's afraid to fight in his natural weight class. Coming in at 157 in the 140lb division? just a scared little pr thats afraid to fight in his own division...**** that guy.
