I agree that the government should be talking about those stories. I cant beleive that the Whitehouse has been setting themselves up with these planted reportes and paid off political commentators and gotten away with it.

Man, I just read this great book. It called "Constitutional Chaos" by Judge Andrew Napolitano of Fox News fame. Man, the guy really blows everthing wide open and exposes the government for the crooked entity that it is. He goes after everything that goes against the constitution and hold no puches, from The PATRIOT act to Waco and Ruby Ridge. I recommend this book to everyone.

I don't get it. Not profound, comedic or insightful in any way.

The Economist has been sounding off about Putin for some time now, but few people seem to be listening. I disagree with many of their opinions but they're one of the few uncorrupt media outlets out there championing true liberal democracy, and I have to give them credit for that.

Props to you Lukan for putting this up. But seriously the problem is not with our government. They aren't the ones who do the news. The problem is with people who would rather go to CNN.com to see who won the oscars than to find out about the real world.
I think that we always have and will press Russia toward democracy and Bush was speaking to the prime minister of Russia about it last week.

If Russia would get its **** together they could be a finacial powerhouse. They have tons of oil and rare minerals ripe for the picking. For starters they need to crack down on the mafioso over there and pay some ambitious people to make a go in industry. By the goverment constantly poking their nose in it nothing productive will ever get done.

Oscars only come around one night a year.

Still, when Putin did this nobody squaked about it then. This happened after that attack on a school last year.

I have no love for the Bush administration as ya'll know. What I am mad about not hearing is how they have paid off commentators and planted folks like Jeff Gannon in the press corps. That is INTERFERENCE with the fourth estate which I find frightening.

Here's another; the news media seems to have lost interest in 9/11 stories, though nowhere near the full story has ever come out:

The Gannon story is the one that has upset me the most...how it got as little play as it did is both ridiculous and remarkable.

I would venture to say that 9 out of 10 folks out there have no clue who Jeff Gannon is and what his job entailed.

Well you should be proud of our Administration then. The Bush administration criticized the dictators massacres and in response Uzbekistan kicked us out of the airbase we had troops stationed there. The United Nations gave this clown the award. The most corrupt organization in the world.

<b>Making Martial Law Easier</b>

<a href="http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=13807626&blogID=233139839&Mytoken=3EF286E4-E1C3-4FF6-A6C59D09DD8DCDFF70097906">The New York Times | Editorial | February 19, 2007</a>

A disturbing recent phenomenon in Washington is that laws that strike to the heart of American democracy have been passed in the dead of night. So it was with a provision quietly tucked into the enormous defense budget bill at the Bush administration's behest that makes it easier for a president to override local control of law enforcement and declare martial law.

The provision, signed into law in October, weakens two obscure but important bulwarks of liberty. One is the doctrine that bars military forces, including a federalized National Guard, from engaging in law enforcement. Called posse comitatus, it was enshrined in law after the Civil War to preserve the line between civil government and the military. The other is the Insurrection Act of 1807, which provides the major exemptions to posse comitatus. It essentially limits a president's use of the military in law enforcement to putting down lawlessness, insurrection and rebellion, where a state is violating federal law or depriving people of constitutional rights.

The newly enacted provisions upset this careful balance. They shift the focus from making sure that federal laws are enforced to restoring public order. Beyond cases of actual insurrection, the president may now use military troops as a domestic police force in response to a natural disaster, a disease outbreak, terrorist attack or to any "other condition."

Changes of this magnitude should be made only after a thorough public airing. But these new presidential powers were slipped into the law without hearings or public debate. The president made no mention of the changes when he signed the measure, and neither the White House nor Congress consulted in advance with the nation's governors.

There is a bipartisan bill, introduced by Senators Patrick Leahy, Democrat of Vermont, and Christopher Bond, Republican of Missouri, and backed unanimously by the nation's governors, that would repeal the stealthy revisions. Congress should pass it. If changes of this kind are proposed in the future, they must get a full and open debate.

VIDEO: BBC WAS HALF AN HOUR TOO EARLY REPORTING ON WTC7 COLLAPSE
On September 11th 2001, BBC World reported at 4:57pm Eastern Time that the Salomon Brothers Building (more commonly known as WTC7 or World Trade Building 7) had collapsed.

This even made the 5pm EST headlines, what is bizarre is that the building did not actually collapse until 5:20pm EST.

9/11 was unusual enough, without BBC World being able to foretell the destiny of WTC 7.

What is even stranger, is that the women reporter is telling the world that the building had collapsed when you can see it in the background over her left shoulder.

Then at 5:15pm EST, just five minutes before the building did actually collapse, her live connection from New York to London mysteriously fails.

So the question is, on 9/11 how did the BBC learn that WTC7 collapsed 23 minutes before it actually did.

Building Seven was 47 storeys, modern in design with structural steel throughout, yet symmetrically collapsed in 6.5 seconds, was someone leaking information.

No steel framed skyscraper has ever collapsed due to fire, before or after 9/11, most people who find out about WTC7, believe it was brought down by a controlled demolition, even demolition experts agree.

Please Investigate 9/11 - Time is of the essence.
