A bunch of people seem to have different opinions about this fight. I haven't seen it, so I can't judge but from what I can tell it was an extremely close fight.

BTW, I thought Edwards won the first fight.

I know that most people will say that I'm baised, but Vulgar can tell you that I'm not. From the point of view of UFC rules how do you see that Yves won?

If he got 10 punches, 5 kicks, and 3 good knees that was a lot. The rest of the time he back pedal adn defend submissions.

As for this fight, not from me but from truly unbiased people that do not even like Hermes as a person: Hermes won round 1, Yves got round 2, and Hermes dominated round 3. How the **** you win a split when you lose 2 rounds of 3.

**** boxing people need to get educated.

I'll give you a perfect example where I thought someone got screwd with one of my guys.
Rob Smith vs Pertus "Buffalo" Walker: Buffalo got his ass kick for the full first round, then for 3/4 of the 2nd adn in the last 45 secs. he got a take down that was a mistake of Rob Smith and ended trowing ineffective punches from the guard. The ruling was a draw.

I thought that it was bull. Smith should have won that clearly.

Anyways, Hermes got screwed again. I'm never going to the Bahamas again. Turk and Caicos here I come.

Ok so I am gonna take one post out of my Hermes bashing here to give a little advice that my instuctor tells us.

Never complain about a decision because there is no reason why it should go to one. If you beat the other guy so badly then you should have finished the fight and if you don't then maybe you don't deserve to win.

A question. Why are boxing judges being used to officiate MMA events anyway. Up here most events are judged by trained MMA judges, hell even I have taken the course and become certified. It's not hard or expensive. Why boxing people are still being used is beyond me. Get your **** in gear America.

You told me about the system you guys use. Its ****ed up. I would rather have the 10 point must system but I think the 3 point MAX system some people are talking about works better. Insted of both fighters starting with 10 points, both fighters start with 0. You earn points in the following manner.

1-0 Fighter A wins a close round that you could make an argument he lost. A good example of this would be Verissimo vs Hughes round 2.

2-0 A fighter wins a round cleanly. He was in control the whole round, but wasn't total domination. Couture vs Ortiz round 1

3-0 round is when a fighter scores a knockdown (or a serious one in MMA), a catch point or a major ass kicking such as a takedown and massive elbows that open up a cut. Jorge Rivera vs David Loiseau round 3

Our system is solid and proven to accurately score fights. You can have all the theories you want but it's the results that matter. The 10 point system is a piece of **** that I don't think even works well for boxing.

As much as I hate to admit this, I agree with you Hockeyguy.

However, my main *****ing might sound that is for Hermes not winning, but is not. Is about the ****ty boxing comish. here in most states.

Unfortunately, we have this thing here called laws, and by law in certain states ie:NJ, FL, NV, MA, GA (the exeption to the rule), and others are regulated by the Boxing or Athletic Comission. Is all a money scam, but we have to follow the law nontheless in order to have the events.

Is not like in Prince George where I can pick a guy out of the bar and tell him to get in the ring. ;-)

This ****ers don't care about the sport as long as they collect their event pay. I've organized several seminars for MMA officiating and when we have them they trully never pay attention. To include during a seminar one time, the guy asked in the middle of a triangle "When is break, I have to get a smoke?" Unfortunately he was not in the triangle.

But still, by all accounts Hermes won round 1 and 3 and Yves won round 2. How the **** that adds up tp Yves winning a split.

Actually, several people on sherdog who saw the fight live were surprised that Yves didn't win all 3 rounds according to the judges. There were some people that felt the sameway about Hermes. I think that alone tells me that it was a close fight and a split decison was correct.

Anybody have a vid of this? Seems to me like this fight could've been a draw.
