Steroids are getting to be a big thing in sports. Giambi, Sheffield and everyone knows about Bonds. I was watching sportscenter today and they said if people keep using them they will be 10 feet tall and as strong as the blue ox. Now that is pretty damn weird. Hell we even got the governor, Arnold Schwartzenger, saying he would still use them. What are your opinions about steroids?

I think steroids are for losers that cant work to make their body better.

Exactly. Everyone can get in decent shape if he only has the right attitude. Steroids are an unfair advantage over people who work hard without them to get the same results and they are a risk for your health. We all have our limits and we'll have to learn to accept them.

Btw. if you worked hard to achieve sth. you get a feeling you'll never get by swallowing some pills.

....That's true and it's pure BS. They are cheaters and losers. If what Conseco has said about McGwire turns out to be true then I have lost all respect for him as well. You can also thank major league baseball and the media for making the homerun races such a big deal and almost promoting the use behind closed doors. The next big thing will be gene doping and it will blow steroids away. It will make guys twice as fast and twice as strong practicaly. It sucks for the natural specimen who won't go that route. I think about my four year old who is big, strong, fast, and agile and can compete with 6-7 year olds in anything. He won't stand a chance against gene doped ****ers who cheat mother nature. Oh well, I hope all the gene dopers and steroid users live a short life and die a very painful death.

...Yes I agree, when it comes to medical purposes only. Steroids are good for certain alergic reactions, poison Ivey treatment, exema, etc. etc. But that use is short term and not intended for the unfair advantage one can gain in a competitive sport.

I do believe that hard work pays off, but in certain situations I deem them ok. Im not saying steroids should be sold over the counter in drug stores everywhere or available to me by ordering from Canada. But I do believe you shouldnt go to prison for them. But I dont think they should be illegal, same goes for every other banned dietary substance out their.

For rehab reasons I believe they should totally be used. With steroids it can regain a person back to their 100% capacity before their injury.

However I dont believe steroids should be used in competitive physical sports....Now Bodybuilding and other various competitions in that nature, I have know problem especially since most BB organizations recognize steroids and have seperate competitions for natural and enhanced competitors.

I have no problem with them in that context, what is a bigger issue to me is that their competitors in that field that are pumping extra blood into their body to get their bodies bigger...Much bigger problem them steroids.

But also the whole steroid issue is blown way out of proportion. Steroids were openly accepted in all field 25-30 years ago and yet today if a person is using them they are obsolete in the record books, just because it is banned now? Come on?

I think some of you guys are confusing human growth hormones with medicinal steroids. They are two different things. The steroid you get for allergic reactions, bronchitis, etc, are not the same as the steroids Bonds used to hit 72 home runs.

The other thing is that some people simply CANNOT gain that size. To get that big, some people would almost have to use steroids.

I don't agree with it at all, though. It's complete crap that some guys use perfomance enhancing drugs, and are considered great still. It pisses me off.

Also, what's with these baseball guys? If I was falsely accused of steroid useage, I'd be all over Conseco's ass. I wouldn't pull a Sammy Sosa and say something like, "I don't know about that. He knows his reasons for writing what he wrote, and I don't, so I don't want to comment on that." Not an exact quote, but pretty close.

Yeah, that just goes to show the people Canseco accused probably did use steroids. Because, I don't know a person who if they were publicly accused of taking steroids to the media, and were innocent, would be alright with it. Most people i know who take them are idiots who think their some stud hardman. I'm a very relaxed guy but i always lose my temper with people like that.

I have a couple of friends who use them to get an edge in the gym. I think they're bad news because they are very addictive as people who use them feel like they have lost their edge when they cycle off, so they can't wait to get back on. They also start to break down your body after a few cycles. They're illegal for a reason.
