Muscle weighs more than fat, so lift hard and heavy. Start out light to warm up then start packing the weight on there. Do 6 sets, when you think you can't get one more rep, take a few deep breathes and force two more out. Do bench and tri one day, then curls and squats the next for 5 days, then take 2 off. Make sure after you work out you eat alot of protein immediatley. You should be able to put on at least 3 pounds of muscle a month, thats 18 in 6, and 36 in a year. This routine really helped me, my arms went from 12.5" to 16 in about 6 months.

I weigh 110 pounds and im about 5"7. I wanna gain weight for football because ill be playing Junior Varsity. I can only bench about 55 which is because of my weight. It is like lifting half my body weight which is pretty good i think.

Oh man, you should be able to bench press your own body weight at least 20 times to be in just above average shape. I weight 160 and can get 305, and thats not even great. You need to lift like i described above and eat as much protein as you can. Squats and bench press will be the major strength builders. You need to do squats hardcore because your legs are your biggest muscles in the body, that will make your whole body grow by increasing you metabolic rate. For your bench press, i think you need to really force out those last few reps, don't stop once you feel the burn, do them till you can't. I don't know about your school, but if a kid were benching 55 on my JV team when i was in school he would have gotten killed. On my freshman team we all had to do 185 just to make the team.

Mike that is a serious exaggeration. If you can bench your own bodyweight x 20 you are more than a little above average. If you weigh 160 and bench 305 you are close to benching double your bodyweight which is exceptional, and it is obvious that you have a natural talent for bench pressing. Lennox Lewis does not bench anywhere near double bodyweight (rumors have him benching only 45 pounds more than you and since they are rumors started by people in his camp it may even be a little less), but is one of the strongest heavyweights in recent history.

Then again, that just proves how meaningless the benchpress is in boxng.

Really, i had no idea about that, that comes as a shock to me. I fugured Lewis would be bench pressing well over 400. I guess its true when they say bench press doesn't prove too much.

Twinkies and Entimans. Garunteed Weightgain. It's not how Roy Jones moved up to heavy, but probably how James Toney moved up to 300.

No, not at all. I do use weights, if you never lift and are 180 benching 250 that is decent.

I suggest you starve yourself until right before you go to sleep, then eat straight peanut butter...just make yourself eat it until you get full, then wash it down with 1 of those gainer shakes. dont puke, just try to goto bed and I guarantee it will put weight on you, bring the jar to school with you and eat it all the time...u will gain i guarantee it

another thing to eat if you are looking to gain weight is a lot of guacamole dip

That is a pretty good idea. Don't eat anything all day, and eat straight peanut butter. Pretty smart. Seems to me you have conquered the gaining weight scheme, you have any tips on how to lose some weight? It would be appreciated.

That's my problem

I need a magic way to lose weight, and there isn't one, unfortunately. Easy as hell to put on, hard to get it off...especially for an endomorph like me, it's in my blood to be pudgy..but I have found a few things that tone me up

I chop on a tree wearing a large sweater with a hood, drink lots of water, and jog 1.8-3 miles every day

The secret way to lose weight is right in front of everyone's face, but it's very hard for someone who likes food to follow this last instruction

You simply cannot eat any sugar or glucose before bed,(no sugar after 5pm) or carbohydrates..if you do this, without exercise you should lose weight, if you can do this exercising daily you will lose immense amounts of weight...

Me, I'm the type of guy that has to have that bowl of cereal before I crash..i get these craving for sweet stuff and have zero will power..my theory has always been to eat whatever I want and just work super hard in the gym, but that will change soon.

Damn, I'm having the exact same problem, I am 150, and trying to get down to 140 or at least 140, but I can't get anywhere. I am used to eating whatever I want, whenever I want, and it's a hard habit to break. I have been eating special K for breakfast, and whatever they are serving here at school. For dinner, I just eat whatever we are having that night, and my mom cooks alot of healthy stuff, we rarely eat fast food. My problem is before I go to bed, I usually drink a soda, and have a pack of cupcakes or something, and I have to stop. I want to lose a little weight, I am not fat, but i'm not skinny, and with the extra weight, it will be harder for me to move around in the ring when the time comes for a fight.+

the rolls contain hella carbs and like 15 grams of fat each, and thats just the roll

simply put if you take in more calories than you burn you will gain weight and if you burn more calories than you take in you will gain weight. So basically just go a week and write down everything you have eaten and all the excercise you have down. Then you can see what you can either eliminate from your deit or add to it. Also to gain weight( muscle mass) You should eat 5 smaller meals a day that are high in protien rather than 3 big meals a day.
