Move BRICKS™ 08-16-2009, 04:23 AM I'm thinkin that Mousasi would have a field day with the 205lb division in the UFC, Machida aside. I completely agree. The Machida fight would be a super fight down the line, but anyone else would get crushed by Mousasi. To me, this fight not happening would fall on the UFC for not copromoting. The UFC is really holding the sport back, though I think this is becoming increasingly more obvious to everyone. phallus 08-16-2009, 04:36 PM I completely agree. The UFC is really holding the sport back, though I think this is becoming increasingly more obvious to everyone. strikeforce is getting better and better fighters, if more elite guys see they have other options besides the UFC, maybe more of them will sign with strikeforce to fight robbie lawler, or fedor, or moussasi. that could seriously change the balance of things Dice 08-16-2009, 05:59 PM Yea it was a nice win, I present you guys this clip to remind you no matter how good you look no man is unbeatable Move BRICKS™ 08-16-2009, 07:15 PM Yea it was a nice win, I present you guys this clip to remind you no matter how good you look no man is unbeatable Who said he was unbeatable? I love Gono, but the guy looked like a fat five year old kid getting his first fight on the playground when he was standing up with Mousasi. The fight happened three years ago and again, with all due respect to Gono, he has gone 2-4 since then with his only notable win being over Tamdam McCrory whereas Mousasi has gone 13-0 against more dangerous opponents, not only stopping all but one of them, but stopping them in the first round. Not to mention he is fighting against legitimate 205lb and Heavyweight threats! Again, I love Gono and I am a huge fan, but his victory was more or less a 1/50 chance to beat someone like Mousasi. The 21 year old tender Gegard that he fought back in 2003 is a completely different beast today. Dice 08-16-2009, 08:13 PM Who said he was unbeatable? But he still lost, I like Gegard but he's like the new flavor of the month with everyone talkin like he's unbeatable. He fought someone who looked like a five year old standing up to him and got tapped out. Its nottoo much Mousasi lacking skills as it is DJ Gozma pulling something out his a$$. All im sayin is I just hate when people say someone is unbeatable because it isnt true. Aside from Fedor everyone slips up. Thats why I love Andersons video gettin on Vitor cuz aside from him hating he says in portuguese that someone is gonna evetually beat him, grand an arm or leg or something. Mousasi is sick dont get me wrong but it just touches a nerve when people portray him as unbeatable even if they dont say it flat, i've been reading that Mousasi can go to the UFC right now and only Machida can beat him at 205 O and Gono beat Hardy in that fight btw Dice 08-16-2009, 08:17 PM O and btw who the hell is in SF's LHW division??? I think most serious MMA fans (not UFC) have been taking note of him for some time as well. Who beats him aside from Machida in your opinion? In my opinion no one. Dice 08-16-2009, 09:45 PM And that was probably me by the way. Who beats him aside from Machida in your opinion? In my opinion no one. When I say I read peoples opinions, im not just talkin this site im talkin most sites. I actually like you and Bricks as posters but to start off with the 205ers, I think Anderson Silva would beat him with his accurate striking. I think Dan Henderson would also beat him with his strong takedowns, iron chin, and his submission defense(out of all the grapplers he fought only three submitted him), theres Shogun, Franklin (who's starting to get a bit underrated), Rampage (who also can take a shot and is hard to submit) and Evans as well. Now its not that im saying he cant beat some of those guys I mentioned because he can but I think the guys I mentioned have the tools to beat him. I dont blame anyone for having an opinion its just the whole unbeatable thing gets me because there are plenty of examples were people look untouchable and fall like Liddell, Belfort, Cro Cop ETC. For the record I think he is very talented and I actually am a fan and thot he would beat Sobral but dont forget Sobral is a talented 205er that really cant get that signature win and was ko-ed by one punch from Jason Lambert Nodogoshi 08-16-2009, 09:53 PM When I say I read peoples opinions, im not just talkin this site im talkin most sites. I guess I still consider him a middleweight, but I'd favor him over Mousasi at whatever weight. The other fighters you mentioned would probably make compelling fights (I'm going to exclude Evans, who I do not think incredibly highly of) but I'd favor Mousasi in any of those fights. Move BRICKS™ 08-17-2009, 02:09 AM I'll find a post a few months ago with me saying that Mousasi would walk through the UFC's MW and LHW division without much problem if you want me to. I'm saying that because it's the truth. Even if the guy loses his next two fights straight, he still has the skill set and determination to become the champion of any organization's LHW division. On a different note, it'd be interesting to see how Mousasi would deal with a loss. |
