Unlike Lampley, PBP announcers like Joe Rogan and Bas Ruten actually train in a few forms of Martial Arts which allow them call matches more accurately than most PBP annoucers because they can relate to what's going on.

That's what the "expert analyst" is suppose to do. The "blow by blow" guy is suppose to do most of the talking while the "expert analyst" interjects with insights on whats going on in the ring (Teddy Atlas doesn't understand this).

This is the formula boxing uses at least.

Lampley and Rogan both shill for their favorite fighters, but Lampley is quick to changes sides when said fighter gets "exposed." Lampley's role is more defined, he's the lead man in the 3-man booth. It's hard to say whether Rogan or Goldberg is the lead guy, I guess he qualifies more as the "color" commentator. All that being said, give Rogan another 20 years and maybe he'll approach Lampley's overall quality as a great commentator, but MMA just hasn't been around long enough for that Rogan to get that kind of experience.

Rogan is aways biased in his fight calling and just downright obnoxious when he thinks he knows everything, Lampley by far.

Strikeforce do have a credible team except that Johnson guy, he needs to go, bring Rutten back into the mix or Quadros and its PRIDE all over again

nah, lucky charms is right. i've noticed that som many times, and it cracks me up every time. he's always talking about the "sheer athleticism" or something or other, whenever there's a black guy in the octagon. often putting their sucess down to the fact he's suh a great athlete. not that he's necasarilly saying it because they're black. but it is pretty funny.

Lampley is the man, Rogan doesn't know **** about boxing and is biased as hell. The Griffin-Rampage and Akiyama-Belcher were horribly broadcasted.

rogan knows his **** (or atleast sounds like he does) I just think that the announcers and Michael Buffer's voices are terrible. In order to be a great announcer you have to have that classic voice, Rogan voice is like nails on a chalk board.....seriously.

Lamply has a great voice for broadcasting and commentating but some of the things he says are just idiotic.
