I'm sure this was discussed at the time, but I've only just got to see the full Ettiene fight. It's not only the way that Ettiene takes his gumshield out... it's the way he has a smile to himself afterwards, as if to say "if I'm being paid to take a dive, I'm going to ham it up." Even on a subsconscious level it's as if he wants to give the game away through pride. Tyson bangs his own head afterwards and looks angry at how obvious and farcical it was.

I tell you what, though - that "broke my back" stuff IS hilarious. I think that's the funniest thing Tyson ever said, particularly the follow-up "spinal".

Yeah....if Tyson had a brain i`d say he was being very clever with those post fight comments!

Ettiene just got KTFO in that fight. It was a short right hand to that china-chin of his that did it. Look at how his legs gave out when he got hit. He could've broke his ankle because of the way he fell, it was an awkward fall from a hard punch.

I think some fighters find it instinctive to take out the mouthpiece because lots of times saliva blocks up the throat and its hard to breathe. Was he able to continue is the big question, and I think he was. He just stayed down cause he knew that he would get battered if he got up. He definetly underestimated Tyson's strenght and dind't do his reasearch.

Etienne threatened to withdraw from the fight just hours before it went down. There were all kinds of outside things going on, and he did get some extra money to go through with the fight.

The Black Rhino just mailed it in. He could have continued, but had no desire to after getting KD'd. I agree that spitting out his mouthpiece and closing his eyes and acting dead looked ridiculous, but there are a lot less punishing ways to throw a fight than to let Tyson hit you with a clean shot to the skull...

There is essentially nothing we can do about Tyson. If he were to die tommorow, nuthuggers would create threads about how good he was, how good he could have been, etc. God forbid the fact that he ever fought, and never fought anyone worth a damn.
