Bluecifer 02-25-2005, 02:29 PM Life is strange sometimes. I've grown stagnant at my current job so am quitting and I start a new job on monday with the largest executive search firm in the world. I won't have the kind of freedom I have with my current job as I'll be working in a fast paced, highly competitive office and I'll have a supervisor, which I haven't had for 4 years with my current firm. Also, I got a beautiful new condo downtown. So, my career has taken a big step forward in terms of money, I'll be living in an awesome new neighborhood in a much better home....so why am I so ****ing stressed out? I guess it's just my fear of a change. As stagnant as I was becoming, I had a certain security...a comfort zone. Now I'm taking a big chance with 2 major life changes and it's scary as ****. I feel like I should be happy as hell, as I've wanted to work for this company and live in this neighborhood for years, but it's such a big chance. I'll have to work WAAAY harder, give up my 3 hour strip club lunches and not come to work hung over as hell. Oh well. I guess nothing is forever.
Oh, and obviously this is also the end of an era/changing of the guard for Global too.

Yep. In fact, I won't even have a private office anymore, I'll be in a bullpen/cube type setting. Total change.

Sorry Blue, but you're gonna hate your new job. Money is not gonna bring you happiness, and you overpaid for your house which you'll lose when you switch jobs again and take a paycut. Happiness can be found in having the freedom of 3 hour lunches at the stripclub, and doing lots of drugs before a threesome. Goodluck with everything.
