With talks of Silva potentially leaving the 185 division and moving up to 205 permanently, this would open up a window of opportunity for someone (GSP maybe) to move up and fight for that 185 crown. I honestly do not see Mike Swick or Martin Kampmann being much of a fight for GSP. If GSP were to go up in weight then I wonder if BJ Penn would make another campaign to retrieve his 170 pound title? Besides Diego, who else would give BJ a good fight in his division?
Any thoughts?

silva will be back at 185.
he'll lose to the first 205 guy that dana doesn't order to trade with him.

I'd like to see a GSP vs. Hendo match up at 185.

I'd like to see GSP trying to grab the vacated MW belt if that happens. I see no reasons why these two would have to fight (Silva-GSP), I made it clear why in one of my posts in another thread.
I'd like to see Silva to take superfights at LHW and at least one at HW to really establish his legacy. He seems to have quite thick bones. Even at 205 he wasn't seemingly muscular and didn't look small compared to Forrest by any means.
BJ I see as the one to hold the LW belt for as long as he wants, so the WW belt would be the only one remaining for others to grab.
Lyoto should hold the LHW belt under his iron will and skills for years imo, and HW lacks the real talent atm.

IMO GSP is too small for 185- i can definately see him fighting some catch weight fights against 185'ers. Silva will probably move up to 205 permanently very soon though Id like to see him fight Demian Maia if he beats Nate Marquart. as far as BJ goes...he needs to stick at 155 where he is basically unstoppable. UFC needs to start bringing over some WEC lights and feathers(who would move up obviously).

You might be correct about GSP's size, but with his credentials I'd give him a good shot. Technically very sound, great wrestling, body control and speed. Though he could get crushed on the ground with Maia, who many consider of being the best in adapting BJJ to MMA.

GSP is as strong as most lt hw's, i think he could grab the vacant 185 belt, and hold onto it until a superfight with silva when gets beat by machida and comes back down to 205

silva won't fight mahida.
brazilians are always turning down title fights or fighting in uncomfortable weight divisions, to avoid fighting their friends.
