He's already 30 something, so I think its safe to say, he's done in the MMA world. Hasn't fought since the Shamrock fight. 2 years ago ?

Nah, he's not done with MMA. Even if he was, he already has an amazing record in combat sports with his undefeated San Shou record. He already put in work, so if he quit MMA, I wouldn't hold it against him.

shame if he has quit, what a fighter, had alot more potential and could of achieved alot more. wish UFC would of got him, they would of managed his career alot more professional

I have the impression he had no interest in the UFC. He makes too much making movies, and the UFC seeks to own their fighters. It's the same with Fedor, fighters who transcend the sport do not need the UFC.

More power to the guy. He's been fighting in one form or another for most of his life so I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't wanna do it anymore. I wasn't overly impressed by the guy, but he was unique in his methods.

I hear where you're coming from. The thing which impressed me was he seems to have very solid kickboxing skills. Coupled with his takedowns/defence, he could be a danger to a lot of fighters.

The quality of opposition and how he dealt with some of them.

Frank Shamrock, a legend but past his prime.

Sammy Morgan, a blown up 170lb'er who Cung took the better part of 3 rounds to finish, in comparison to Paul daley who done him inside 3 mins.

Tony Fryklund, never accomplished anything in MMA. Most known for being KO'ed silly by Anderson Silva's elbow. And again Cung took the better part of 3 rounds to finish him which isn't impressive when you consider that outside of Matt Lindland every other guy that has beaten him finished him early.

Jason Von Flue, another blown up 170lb'er and a TUF bum. . . no more needs to be said.

Brian Warren, not even a worthy opponent for anyone. Has lost 7 of his last 10 fights since then. An 11-13 record.

Mike Altman, see Brian Warren, 1-4 record.

No doubt, I think his fights were basically more for show than anything else.

True, his methods were interesting. But at the same time he's a specialist which is never a good thing in MMA. He's like Thiago Alves in a way. If Cung met someone who could match him for technique on the feet and had great wrestling I could see Cung losing decisively.
