On his fight and loss to Brian Bowles...

"When I got hit with that right, I remember chasing Brian and then I remember the referee standing over me. I was like, “**** man, he caught me!” Anything I was doing when I was on my back was autopilot. Brian broke his left hand hitting me with those shots, so when he put me down, I was dazed when I went down, but he knocked me out and broke his hand, so it wasn’t like he was hitting me with small shots."

"Ah man, it’s only made me a more dangerous fighter bro. Brian Bowles just woke up a sleeping giant. My style…I pretty much coached myself and ran my own training camps. I hadn’t lost in a long time, but after this loss, it’s going to make me revamp everything. I just got off the phone with Mark DellaGrotte and I’m working with a couple different coaches to make my game step up."

"I wasn’t disappointed man. I look at it as a true chance to redefine my game at this point in my career. I want to show the world that a champ just isn’t made through wins, but through losses as well. I’m not looking at this as anything negative in no kind of way in my mind. Even after the fight, when I went back to the locker room, I wasn’t upset; I didn’t feel like crying or anything. Brian did a great job. He executed his gameplan and now it’s my turn to get back on track. I don’t want an immediate rematch. I want to earn my shot back to get the title."

On the possible late stoppage...

"People told me about that. They said I took too many punches after the fact, but you know what man? I talk to all of the referees before the fight and I let them know that’s the way I want to go out. I want to go out; I want to go out! I don’t want there to be a question of if I was okay still or still awake. If I’m going to go out, I want to go out man. I respect Rosenthal for doing that! People thought it might have been too much, but for me, it’s not enough. Every time I go out, I put my life on the line and if I’m going to lose a fight, that’s the way I want to go out. I want to go out!"

Good to see that he's motivated by the loss and wants to use it as an opportunity to improve

Can't knock the man for that response. :boxing: I haven't seen the fight yet but was shocked to hear that he lost like that. Hopefully he can regain his title. He's definitely a likable guy.

Looks like my boy Jakkups was right, Torres is making all of the arrangements to come back even more dangerous as before. **** is going to get hectic and I am looking forward to him knocking some contenders senseless.

This fight reminded me of Faber-Brown in a way. Faber, like Torres, adapted an unorthodox style, which did not serve him, imo.

There are fighters who bring unorthodox styles which they use effectively, ala Sakuraba, Genki Sudo, Emmanuel Augustus, etc. Faber and Torres would be better served to stick with fundamentals, particularly given the fact that they are fighting in championship level fights.

Faber's spinning elbow from 4 feet out pretty much said it all.

Nah Organik. Faber tried the fundamental approach and ended up breaking both of his hands on Brown's head. Brown just had his number.

Torres could(and probably will) bounce back but this is the perfect chance for him to simply move up and show his p4p worth.

Yeah he broke his hand's but he had a much better fight. I agree that Brown had his number, but his unorthodox style did not serve him any.

Wait, so you don't see Miguel as P4P worthy because you think that he outsizes everyone at his weight class even though he never weighs more than 147 on fight night, but you see GSP as P4P worthy even when you said yourself that he outsizes everyone at his weight class. One rule for the fighter you like and another for the fighter you hate is it?

I'm seeing Torres-Bowles II happening soon because of Torres' status. Also I think if Faber-Brown II were to occur, Faber would have a legit shot at winning back the belt. The 1st fight he fought stupidly, 2nd fight he showed he get up quick from Brown's takedowns, he even had a choke sunk in but couldn't tighten it due to his hands. I think had he not broken his hands he would've won that night.

Lulz,MMGAY and it's fighters glass jaws.Stick to grappling and molesting each other kids.Leave the actual punching to those who can throw and take them.A fighter having to sustain an actual blow to the face..Imagine that. These guys should just stick to the slightly less real wwe

Lol @ your small intelligence about MMA. Many a fighter have taken repeated and hard shots. Why're you acting like you could eat em? LOLOL if its not real I dare you to enter a compeition.

It doesnt mean much now, but I seen this coming. (I do have the betting slip)

Bowles is much better then he got credit for and is still getting credit for. I would pick him in the rematch too.
