View Full Version : 150$ Worth The Money
thanhha 02-24-2005, 08:22 PM I have been debating about going to the Tito/Winky fight. The cheapest ticket is 150$
My question is it worth the money? its being held at the MGM Grand. This is my first boxing match that I will be attending.
If any been has been to the MGM Grand, please let me know what you think of it, and how the seating was.
The 150$ is the cheapest seats, and its location is held all the way in the back....way back.

Thats cheap for who you are seeing, but im sure the seating is way back and depending on the quality of your eyes and the position on which you are sitting may be alright. For instance, I was ringside at one fight and got put close to the ring post. I couldnt see anything. When I went up to get refreshments in the cheap seats above you had one hell of a view, I mean over the top looking down on the fighters PERFECT. I wish I sat their instead, but it also HIGHLY depends on the venue and who is broadcasting the fight. HBO telecasts sucks the security would always yell "HBO wants all spectators to remain seated" No wonder fights break out in the stands.
150 is a bit steep for my standards but it is better than paying 300 to see dlh vs hopkins probably in the same section :)
Also my seats for Tyson vs Williams was god mother****ing awful I couldnt see **** and paid 250 for them.
Try to get seats on the sides of the ring (usually where the camera is or on the opposite) those have the best views.
thanhha 02-24-2005, 08:49 PM The ticket range is 150$, 250%, 400$, 750$, 1000$
I have no choice but to take the cheapest ticket. Looks like I can't see **** fromt he seating chart, but the card is good to resist.
But 150$ adds up with room, airfare, food and ****.

Indeed it does, if it breaks over 800 dollars. Id save the cash and order the ppv but its all about the experience...Is it worth it?
joeboxer 02-24-2005, 09:12 PM That sucks. My seats for Hopkins vs Eastman were 75 dollars and I was on the floor right next to wear the boxers come out. It was sweet, I could just make out the Tattoo on Tyson's face.

Tickets for that fight was priced incredibly low, I was surprised.
As was the case for Judah/Spinks II they had tickets priced at 25 dollars a piece. Boxing needs to lower ticket prices and put more asses in seats.
On top of that the savvis and staples center was all paid, no casino giveaways like they do in vegas...Somehow Vegas STILL cant fill an arena....Anyone notice how hyper the crowd is in ticket paid arenas as opposed to casinos???
22,000 people look a lot better to the general public than a full lower level row of 1,000.
trinidadpr87 02-24-2005, 09:22 PM I just got tickets to the the Kevin McBride vs. Kevin Monity fight at foxwoods.
borikua 02-24-2005, 09:23 PM I bought my ticket for the Cotto-Corley fight for $25 :D

That's very true. Especially because in the casino you have gamblers who for the most part bet about things they don't really care about. They do get excited at really weird times because of the bets they made like cheering for someone to make it all they way through the last round, when they allready lost the fight and no one else cares.
PessimisticPug 02-24-2005, 10:40 PM I'd pay $150 to watch winky and tito. I would assume that the seating would be like the palace of auburn hills. The nose bleeds are far away but you can see whats going down just fine. Obviously not like if you were ring side but it would still be o.k. I remember back in the day I got some free-be's to go watch Thomas Hearns ko Dennis Andries for the light heavyweight title at Cobo Hall in Detroit. that was sweet........Rockin'
Tha Greatest 02-25-2005, 12:06 AM they have binoculars at the mgm grand, $10 and u get it for the night, trust me it's worth it, it's like ur standing in the ring, i used them when i went to morales-pacman III, it's like i was in the ring;)

Morales and pacman fought three times already? Seriously, you saw MAB - EM III, how awesome was that! Damn, I was so considering flying out and saying f' the expense. But it was way too much dough. I live in NYC so I'm pissed that Winky-Tito is not at MSG. The Tito-Mayorga fight had outrageous priced nosebleeds too. I decided I'd rather watch it from tv than see two specs move around. But from the roar of the crowd I kinda wish I had gone.
deuce_drop 02-25-2005, 02:50 PM i heard that it's sold out, but i do know that the cheaps seats are $170.oo now, or were before they sold out. damn Don King
bigdlb12 02-25-2005, 03:57 PM thats cheap, for DLH vs Vargas Cheapest was $850 and sitting way the **** up there
thanhha 02-25-2005, 03:58 PM You telling me the 150$ seats already been sold out????
The Fix 02-25-2005, 04:52 PM id pay the 150 and i dont like either fighter very much. if you are a fan of boxing , that should be reason enough to see the fight.
