I think a lot of people understood what he meant, and I did honestly think it wasnt meant to be disrespectful. However, the way he said it speaks of Willie's limited ability in observing proper public decorum. He's good at entertaining and making people laugh, hell he's even good in making people cry, but sometimes he have a hard time drawing the line when his statements are already being offensive or not.

He did said his side and his apologies to the Aquino family and they accepted. The network probably made it appear that he is just having an indefinite leave, but they would just want the issue to die down. Wowoweee is a money-raking machine they simply cant afford to lose.

Expect people to clamor for his return, and when he does come back, he'll have a heart-warming spiel and expect tears to flow in his eyes. Then he goes back to his old element again. Thats how money flows.
