GRIFFIN UNINJURED, NOT DEALING WELL WITH LOSS (http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=9333&zoneid=13)

Following a devastating knockout loss to UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 101 on Saturday night, former 205-pound champion Forrest Griffin wasted no time getting up from the mat and quickly exiting the Octagon.

At the post fight press conference, UFC President Dana White said he hadn't seen or heard from Griffin after the fight and he could be "back in Georgia" at that point.

“He’s an emotional guy,” commented White. “He came into this fight confident that he was going to beat Anderson Silva.”

Reports surfaced on Sunday that Griffin had suffered a jaw injury and that was the reason for his hasty exit, but MMAWeekly.com was able to confirm with representatives from Zinkin Entertainment, Griffin's management group, that he is physically fine following the Saturday night fight.

Griffin suffered no broken jaw and he is physically okay, said the Zinkin representative, but emotionally he is definitely not dealing well with the loss.

Griffin, who is ranked as a top five light heavyweight, faced Silva Saturday night in the co-main event, and struggled with the Brazilian's speed and unbelievable accuracy during the bout.

After two knockdowns early in the round, Griffin was caught with a quick straight right hand that put him down on the canvas for the final time as he waived to the referee to stop the fight.

I'm sick of seeing TUF hypejobs pawned off as legit fighters. This was Henderson-Bisping all over again.

Griffin wasn't as bad as Bisping. He fought far better competition than Bisping did. Bisping's biggest name was Hendo. Griffin has Shogun, Rampage, Ortiz and now Silva on his record. But nonetheless, he still got murked.

Griffin is now a gate keeper. Someone the UFC will feed to Jon Jones. Hopefully he can deal with a loss a little better than Rampage did.

Jones would put a major hurting on Griffin. Jones via KO (spinning back elbow).

How are Bisping and Griffin not "legit" fighters? Just because they aren't top competition, doesn't mean they aren't legit fighters.

Bisping has always sucked and got his head taken off his first fight against top competition. His record was simply inflated with ****ty fighters (Jason Day, Elvis Sinosic?)

Forrest has gotten some very good win, but he isn't more than a tough guy with a good cardio and a lot of heart. Good character, FAR from elite.

griffin never should have beaten rampage, he'll never get near that belt ever again, i think now he's waking up and seeing this. it's not the defeat by silva, everybody, even him, knew he was gonna lose. he's passed the top of his career

and bis-ping is a bum with a padded record, i knew he had no chance against 38 year old hendo. the count ran from matt hamill and the judges gave him the fight because the UFC doesn't want to promote a deaf guy who has talent. hendo is a former olympian and pride 185 lb champ - in other words a 100 times better than hamill
