There seems to be a monster inner community within BoxingScene of Filipino Boxing fans. I am seriously considering the creation of a board devoted to Filipino Boxing and their very own lounge.

I need some feedback if I should go ahead with this.

imo rick it would be a bad idea , the whole concept of the site is to meet boxingfans from around the world , if everybody starts his own lounge in his own language the site lost most of his interest.

I would not start an area for a group of fans unless there was a ton of interest for it. When there are ten active UK fans, not much sense for a UK section, when there are 100 active pinoy fans then there is a possibility, but this is just in the thought stage as the idea has been thrown my way by many.

I agree. As far as the Pinoy community having their own lounge, they already do with Jompacs lounge and the Pinoy lang thread. I think tino is right.

Ive seen other sites that have a Latin Boxing Lounge which makes more sense cause there is a lot more known past and present Latin fighters. But if your reasons are great enough go ahead, it might filter some of the Manny bandwagon.

Ima tell you right now Rick, you'd attract CRAZY amounts of posters. Which I don't think would be horrible as tino pointed out cuz we'd have a diff sectioon. One thing's for sure, boxingscene will grow even more.

If I remember correctly the really really popular fighters had their own section. For example: Tyson, Jones Jr, PacMan, and V.Klitschko

Well, not a hundred percent true.
1.) A couple of pinoys are here solely because of Manny but most are here because they are boxing fans. I was here way before i even knew of Pacquiao as I'm sure a lot of the old-timers are. Been watching boxing on and off for over thirty years. More when I moved to North America.
2.) Make a Manny forum instead of a Pinoy forum? Then it really doesn't make any difference except for the title of the lounge does it since it will still be a separate forum.
3.) Don't be too quick to judge that just because we support a fighter from our country (some more rabid than others) it means we are not boxing fans first.
As long as you guys don't mind the Pinoy Lang thread in the general lounge then I'm fine with whatever majority votes. I thought it was a great idea at first until tino made his argument which kinda made sense.
Just my two cents.

Pac is still too young...even if he losses, Barrera will be next. He has to avenge his loss, no matter what...then there's the inconclusive fight with Marquez that needs to be closed. Pacnuthuggers have at least two more years of life....LOL :D

Which is very true. The other 20% do know about boxing and r true fans. I appreciate some of the smart pinoys keeping the others under control. Wow! the godfather finally realized how HUGE the pinoy boxing fan base is. I say that would be GREAT! but other boxing fans might get jealous and they may hate us for being treated SO special. sO RICK let them be green with envy and go ahead create that forum PLEASE. :D

we admit that it was because of pacquiao that brought us into this, and so what? boxingscene has provided us, "pinoys", the chance of getting connected to one another even if some of us are based outside our country. after all this, it's more than just pacman as the binding force among us.

in our "pinoy lang" thread, we talk more than just boxing: other sports, present situation in our native land, SEX, girls, jokes, and even non-sense stuffs....

boxingscene attracted alot of pinoys, not only boxing afficionados (the truth is, i'm really not a 100% boxing fan), but also some pinoys like me who just want to hang out with my brothers who i don't even know personally.

a forum solely for pinoys shows the admin's appreciation of our solid brotherhood, and in return, it will be appreciated by many more pinoys and will attract more to join....

with or without our hero!

Wrong! The majority of us will still be here regardless of the outcome of Pacman vs EM. If you happen to visit Pinoy Lang lounge it is very seldom that we talk about Pacman.
