Promoter Dan Goossen was in Australia to watch his middleweight Sam Soliman win another bout by way of a fourth round stoppage.

Goossen told the Australian press that he was flying back to the states to begin negotiations for a bout between Bernard Hopkins and Soliman.

Soliman is the mandatory challenger to the IBF version of Hopkins’ middleweight crown. [details (http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=751)]

I can't imagine either fight will take place, but if one had to, I would hope Sturm would get the fight. Soliman is a joke.

Soliman is a joke but he is IBF number one challenger. I hope Hopkins avoids this fight and moves up in the weight divisions!

i know im a lil late to this party, but i just got a chance to see the Soliman fight, and i thought he was impressive. He looked much better than on the Fight on Fox Sports last year. A lil ****y for his age...but still, fun to watch IMO.

But let's be honest, Hopkins won't fight him, right? Although, his style against Hopkins sounds like it would be fun

Hopefully Hopkins vacates the IBF belt so he wouldn't have to fight him. This is Hopkin's last year in boxing, I don't want to see it wasted on guys like Soliman. Hopkins/Johnson or even Hopkins/Taylor would be much more interesting.
