He's hiding from Mayorga tyson 02-22-2005, 09:34 PM haha :D:D good one ;) Marjoh 02-22-2005, 09:39 PM After two shoulder surgeries, the former undisputed welterweight king Vernon Forrest is back in training preparing to once again break through the rankings of boxing’s Pound-for-Pound list. This past Saturday ********** caught up with the Viper to get the scoop on how his shoulder is feeling as it continues to heal, what he will do once he becomes 100% healthy again, when he plans to return to the ring as a junior middleweight, and why Ricardo Mayorga is a name that will always be on his radar for as long as he stays in the sport. **********.com I don't think there would be a third Mayorga-Forest. He had his chance. And even so, the outcome would be the same. tyson 02-22-2005, 09:45 PM I don't think there would be a third Mayorga-Forest. He had his chance. And even so, the outcome would be the same. Thanks for the information :) If he hadn't been such a *****-ass in the second fight, he would've gotten the decision. He ran around like a *****cat with chili up it's ass. abdiel2k3 02-22-2005, 09:51 PM He's hiding from Mayorga well someone should tell him its safe to come out Mayos up at super welter now and even then tito dismantled him i dont think hell be the same after that slavik18 02-22-2005, 09:53 PM Supposingly he will be better. He's training hard now, and focusing on defense. At least thats what he says. abdiel2k3 02-22-2005, 09:55 PM Supposingly he will be better. He's training hard now, and focusing on defense. At least thats what he says. well thats great to hear remeber mosley was refocused and feeling better then ever b4 his rematch with wright i think i heard the same coming from roy jones too Marjoh 02-22-2005, 10:02 PM Supposingly he will be better. He's training hard now, and focusing on defense. At least thats what he says. For some, getting beat is discouraging. But for some others, it's a wake up call. So hopefully, what you heard is true. I'm not expecting him to box like Spinks, but an improve Mayorga nonetheless. slavik18 02-22-2005, 10:05 PM What happened at the Mayorga Camp: 1. Ricardo fired his trainer after the Trinidad fight, apparently he said that his trainer wasn't pushing him. Didn't even care if he trained or not 2. Hired two of his relatives that he says push him to his limits 3. Run and does abs by himself, not part of training. He's trying to get himself to superb shape 4. Working on defense 5. Asking for a rematch with Trinidad; they talked to Don King and he said maybe after he wins the Belt from Castillejo 6. Thats all I know so far Marjoh 02-22-2005, 10:17 PM I may go and see the Golota-Brewster fight live just to see this card. NYCHeavyHitz 02-22-2005, 10:58 PM You CAN'T. I repeat, You CAN'T fight someone after he's beaten you twice. No questions asked. I suggest Forrest avoids Mayorga, for real. Marjoh 02-22-2005, 11:09 PM Hopkins fought and beat Allen three times. NYCHeavyHitz 02-22-2005, 11:16 PM One was a no contest, so it's not really an official win. I dunno if he beat him first, then the no-contest, then the 12 rd. decision. But if you lose the first two fights, there's no way you can try to win for a third time. The Fix 02-23-2005, 12:15 AM did anyone else think forrest won the second match? i did and i thought he was a good fighter. he should fight cory spinks at 154 in his comeback fight. that way there is no risk of getting KO'd and he can show what he has left against a very good fighter pinkpanther 02-23-2005, 04:43 AM did anyone else think forrest won the second match? i did and i thought he was a good fighter. he should fight cory spinks at 154 in his comeback fight. that way there is no risk of getting KO'd and he can show what he has left against a very good fighter Like the fight with Spinks but not as his comeback he should take a fight prior to that one, Spinks would be to much 1st up. No I didn't think he won the second fight - he just didn't do enough for me, no denying his ability though - lets hope he's still got it, for me though I think those loses to Mayorga will have damaged him badly. abdiel2k3 02-23-2005, 10:21 AM vernon could handle spinks easy spinks could bbearly deal with Zabs jab now picture vernons long jab in face then hopefully he can follow it up with some rights and get and even earlier KO then Judah Toller 02-23-2005, 10:33 AM I can't remember exactly how I scored the second fight with Mayorga, but it was definitely close imo & could have gone either way Slipx 02-23-2005, 11:37 AM did anyone else think forrest won the second match? i did and i thought he was a good fighter. he should fight cory spinks at 154 in his comeback fight. that way there is no risk of getting KO'd and he can show what he has left against a very good fighter Many people would find that fight boring, I see Forrest winning by KO in the later rounds, if you make Spinks move excessively in the beginning rounds, he moves much less come the last four rounds of the fight. I'd definately love to see it and would find it very interesting. rudy 02-23-2005, 11:40 AM Vernon Forest is a poor man ronald Wright. He will struggle at Light-Middleweight notice he stopped calling any names but I know Kasim Ouma wants to bust his arse. I used to like to Forest up and until he lost Mayorga. I think he wants fighting the best I have ever seen until he got stopped. bigdlb12 02-23-2005, 11:47 AM What happened at the Mayorga Camp: 1. Thats all I know so farhell yeah about time he got his head out of his ass, Mayorga is doing everything he needs to become a better man and fighter bigdlb12 02-23-2005, 11:47 AM oh how I would love to see Vargas vs mayorga xrhythmxnxbluesx 02-23-2005, 12:05 PM yea i wanna see that too... it would be good for both their careers... mayorga and vargas.... but this is a random question i always see this around but never really ask anyone bout... what does "imo" mean anyways... jabsRstiff 02-23-2005, 12:16 PM I truly hope Vernon is back in the ring, ASAP. Losing in boxing is such a crime these days. One loss can mentally destroy a fighter these days. Imagine if Marvin Hagler folded up the tent after he struggled with/lost to some of those Philly middles ? Vernon is no bum for losing to Mayorga....it's a shame so many, himself included, think that's the case. abdiel2k3 02-23-2005, 12:30 PM yea i wanna see that too... it would be good for both their careers... mayorga and vargas.... but this is a random question i always see this around but never really ask anyone bout... what does "imo" mean anyways... IMO is In My Opinion well IMO anyways :D bigdlb12 02-23-2005, 12:35 PM yea i wanna see that too... it would be good for both their careers... mayorga and vargas.... but this is a random question i always see this around but never really ask anyone bout... what does "imo" mean anyways...in my opinion is what it means Warrior Spirit 02-23-2005, 03:37 PM I really used to like Vernon Forrest especially he after he beat Mosleys ass bad. I thought this guy would be the next great thing to come alon in the welters but Mayorga ruined that. I wonder how Forrest would fare against Zab Judah? DiegoFuego 02-23-2005, 04:58 PM He's hiding from Mayorga Sad but true |
