Ghost talkin about his struggles growin up...
Grand Champ 08-02-2009, 11:41 AM Damn Mac, That's deep. thanks for sharing.
Truth 08-02-2009, 12:53 PM theres alot of reasons, but one is that he is a great artist for sure...
QUELOQUE 08-02-2009, 01:51 PM Classic track. 50 got on him about the roaches in the cereal box, like he ain't never have em.
I don't know about top 10 DOA though, his flow is monotone and these days he finds himself off beat sometimes.
MegStarr* 08-02-2009, 02:02 PM Ghost is in my top 10 for sure.
and i almost missed this, but QUELOQUE, i find it very difficult to understand how you could consider his flow to be "monotone". to me, Ghostface has one of the best deliveries in hip hop. period. it's interesting that i can find his delivery so captivating while to your ears it sounds flat...

Not his delivery because Ghost has a unique energetic delivery, when I'm talking about monotone it's more of how he adapts his flow to the beat, how he adjusts his rhyme scheme to the beat, etc. Monotone is probably the wrong word for it though.
Being off beat is a problem he's had in some of his newer joints, not before, may be unfair on my part, can't really judge Shaq by what he did with Phoenix.

Truth 08-02-2009, 04:22 PM some rappers are very good at spitting rhymes, but they arn't great artists. Ghostface is a great artist, thats one reason I really respect him alot.
KILLA RIGHT 08-02-2009, 05:09 PM Ghost is top 5
steeluv 08-02-2009, 09:13 PM ghost has been the most constantly good wu tang member, although to begin with i prefered raekwon and gza, on the whole of there material Ghost is Number 1 and Gza number 2 I think, My favourite Wu Solo Album is Liquid Swords!
Kobe Bryant 08-02-2009, 09:55 PM Not top 10 in my opinion. But he's good. I don't really **** with him like that but I've heard probably all of his albums. I have a copy of Ironman and Surpeme Clientele.

Big Doe Rehab is a GREAT album. i love the energy. it has a couple of boring-ish moments but apart from those its straight gold. Yolanda's House is probably my favorite track off of it, but that's just cuz it's a total full-package track. lots of bang for your buck. got some nice features, and a DOPE beat.

black.ink 08-03-2009, 02:32 AM I'd respect anybody who has Ghost top 10 all time, but i'd say calling him top 20 is the best option. I don't think many would have him out of the top 20.
A strong catalogue matched with being one of the best guestspot rappers in the Wu barring Deck makes for a very strong case.
When Wu first hit, Gza and Rae were strongest to showcase their talents, while Ghost has stayed the most consistent throughout the past 20 years.

Frank Martin 08-03-2009, 05:29 AM I wouldnt put him above RZA, Method and Ins. But he deserve to be one of the greatest.

I think you mean GZA.
Keeping in mind the consistency, skill, lyrics, flow etc...right now i have it.
1 Ghost
2 GZA (needs more material)
3 Raekwon
4 Meth
5 INS
6 Masta

i see where you are coming from with stating that GZA needs more matieral, but i think that what seperates him most from Ghost is his lack of personality. i battled with myself for a long time as to who was my favorite member between Ghost and GZA, and while GZA is lyrically beyond Ghost, Ghost's delivery and overall performance prevails.

why would you rate RZA and Method Man above Ghost? just curious. RZA is certainly NOT a better rapper, and Ghost cannot compete fairly with RZA's production skills because he is not a producer himself. Method Man has a great sound and performance quality but i would not put him above Ghost.

That is pretty much my reasoning. Gza is too monotonous to have as the number 1 member, although lyrically i'd put him top 5 all time. Ghost has a better flow, and brings more energy to a track.
Raekwon has always been my fave member of the Wu with Deck a close second, but careerwise, Ghost is ahead of the pack.
KILLA RIGHT 08-03-2009, 05:06 PM favorite
1 ghost
2gza
3 rae
4 ins
5 masta

Unknown Champ 08-06-2009, 04:50 AM meth fell off, i like rza's sound

RZA is my most favorite among wu-tang members. Good rapper, good producer. His style may not be the best but its enough to make a good songs.Ins is a sick lyricist so does Meth. But that's just my opinion.
