I never paid too much attention but for a short while Eastman with the better arm length seem to have been giving him some trouble in the first half of the fight. So Hopkins shows us that arm lenght is no matter for him :boxing:. Who out there can beat him now (this year) Taylor? Lacy (if he moves up)? Tarver/Johnson? @ 175 lbs

Hopkins let everyone know at the post fight press conference that at this point in time, he’s bigger than the four middleweight title belts he holds and that M-O-N-E-Y it the motivating factor. That, and a possible challenge of Glen Johnson for Johnson’s light heavyweight title. That challenge intrigues. Hopkins he says because even the great Sugar Ray Robinson was unable to move from middleweight to light heavyweight and win that title. Robinson collapsed from heat exhaustion in his challenge of Joey Maxim for the 175-lb title in June of 1952. Johnson has a contractural obligation to grant Antonio Tarver a rematch-which could happen in June or July. Hopkins vs. Johnson, should he defeat Tarver, would not happen until late 2005.

Does Bernard want to wait that long for a fight that may not happen should Tarver defeat Johnson? He could also challenge Tarver than for the light heavyweight title.

Another possibility, and the biggest money maker, would be a Hopkins-Trinidad rematch. Tito faces Winky Wright on May 14 and that’s not a gimme fight for Trinidad, who’s promoted by Don King, whom Hopkins has a lawsuit pending against.

Which brings us to a possible Hopkins-Jermain Taylor fight.

The earliest he's going to be able to fight is probably late August to Early september...But september is De La Hoya's month...Actually it would be pretty cool to have them both on the same card, a definite PPV, because of Oscar...still big money for Hopkins.

i believe they measured reach like a persons wingspan. from finger tip to finger tip and across the back. i remember sugagr shane had a longer reach before because he has a wide body

I measured my arm length with a closed fist from the elbow and it was 25

Yeah, that's how they measure reach. But it's incorrect to measure that way, because if you got really broad shoulders, you have short arms, but still big reach. Normally the length from fingertip to fingertip is exactly as long as your height.
In reality, if a guy has a thin body, he will have long arms. And if you have a wide body/shoulders, you will have shorter arms if both are at the same height.
That's why they now measure the arm-length only

I don't knack Winky's skills, I just don't like his stationary style against Tito. He said during the press conference that no one really pressed forward against him because his opponents were somewhat intimidated. Won't happen with Trinidad.
