Why is it almost always someones first album is thier best?

I just heard Piggy Bank(50's diss track on Massacre) and its garbage in my opinion.

When I heard "candy shop" I thought it might be a pretty good album. After hearing this I will wait and burn if off of someone.

50 cent is horrible. I don't even know how people can enjoy his crap. He's not even a good rapper. I've never even heard him till Saturday Night live a few days ago, and he has nothing more than any other rapper has. No charisma, his lyrics suck, he can't dance. All around waste of space.

yeah he is. what peopl dont realize is that he is not a good rapper and his lyrics are not the greatest. he just has beats and thats it. iam sure he will sell a lot but the material will be garbage. i didnt even like college dropout that much it was too overhyped. i give it a 3.5/5

50 is garbage but I usually like when he's lacing hooks or mini guest spots (ala Let me In).

I think the same goes for Kanye even though most of his beats are fire.

this isn't 50's second album, just his second album on shady/aftermath. not everyone falls into the sophmore slump. eminem's best album on aftermath was his second. i never much cared for 50, he wouldnt of done **** if he wasnt on shady/aftermath, i havnt heard the new album yet, it may be ****, but i'll bet it still goes platinum.....

He had a couple catchy singles and his time should be done. If there weren't other guys on G-unit that sounded exactly like him, that would help his cause, but when I heard Disco Inferno, I thought it was a Lloyd Banks song.

The sophomore slump happens so often because an artist is trying really hard to get signed the first time around. Not all of the songs are new once they've gotten to the studio. Plus, they're more or less auditioning to go on tour, get a longer deal with the record label, etc. They're making their first impression with fans.

And they're hungrier, because they don't see themselves on MTV every day, aren't getting the groupies, the adoration, all the stuff that comes with having a hit album.

Nas's first album is his best. So is Wu-Tang's. And Biggie's. And Outkast's. And Snoop's. And Da Brat's. And Warren G's. In the last two instances, some people don't even know they put out a second album. Once the novelty is over, something else needs to come out to keep people's attention.

People get lazy. Sometimes, people's gimmick goes stale. How many Spice 1 albums can we really take?

Very few rappers put out more than a couple albums that sell well. That's why LL Cool J, Snoop, The Beastie Boys, Too Short - who go gold or platinum every time they come out and they've been out forever - are a rarity.

Most rapper's first albums are thier best because they are still hungry. Once that hunger is gone then you see them start to slip for a minute. Some of them make it back but most don't. The Massacre is a weak album in my opinion but nothing that I didn't expect.

Because after they taste success they sell their soul for more of it. The second album is always created when the artists soul is most lacking.

50 had a few good songs but it comes from the production , good beats and big bass.

he his not a rapper to remember IMO.

i know i listened to some of crooked I's stuff in anticipation only to see the album shelved numerous times. i think crooked I left deathrow or something but i think suge is suing him or has some legal **** saying crooked is still on the label. if im not mistaken ive heard that even snoop may be still property of suge knight and suge stil makes money off of snoop.
