View Full Version : The three most overused boxing expressions on here...
!! Anorak 02-21-2005, 05:06 PM 1. "He got exposed". The concept of a boxer getting 'exposed' is a lot rarer than you would imagine. It implies that they can't operate at a top level, or that they're hiding a fundamental weakness (ie. Wlad's chin) that became uncovered. Often when people say 'exposed' they really mean 'he got beat in a fight'. It's possible to lose a fight without being 'exposed'.
2. "He got owned". Rendered almost bland by repetition nowadays, this tired old phrase gets trotted out every time someone takes so much as a jab.
3. "I give [insert name of boxer, preferably one it's fashionable to like] props." Well, it sounds cool, doesn't it?

The most overused phrase is:
"Boxer A defeated a game but overmatched Boxer B". That basically means "you did try, but you do suck"
