Hey guys, Im looking into buying some stock in Sirius sattelite radio. The stock has been going way up since Howard signed with them and now the former head of viacom is joining on as CEO. The stock is up a lot right now so I dont know if I should jump in now or wait and see if it mellows out. Does anyone else own this or thinking about getting in?

Man I was talking about going in when you actually did. I wish I would have gotten off my ass. Im watching it right now and its around 5.25. Im going to chill and see if its going to come back down to earth. Since there was so much hype about it this week I think it may mellow out a bit w=once all this **** dies down. I do however think its possible that Howard my come to Sirius sooner than we thought.

The only bad thing is when they added the nfl network it slightly rose but not a whole lot and their is a lot more nfl fans than stern...

XM has a ****load of commercials now so I see sirius sifting through and coming out on top...Have you seen xm's stock? My god it rose to a godly amount..

I invested around 500 dollars and my current status now would be around 700 or so...Its only getting better....

My father taught me the ropes in stocks and I made a whole plethora of cash the other day.

I took some of my college tuition a few years back and invest a thousand into kmart when they were going under (it was extremely cheap)

and I still have it....

It pays for my college so it isnt like im all rich or anything.

Id give the sirius thing a try but dont invest to much.....

Im going to throw about a grand into it.

I hear you about the NFL, but the diff between the two is that people watch the NFL on TV while Stern is exclusive to radio (I know hes on E! but that doesnt really count). If 10% of Howard's audience follows him to Sirius they will be profitable. Howard was in NY yesterday on the streets giving out over 500 Sirius radios, then he went on Letterman to hype it up. I think its so hight right now because of the hype and will go back down to around 4.50 in the near, but I also think its will only go up in time. It would be nice if it goes up near the XM level!!

Give it time, the best thing to do is sit on it because I have no doubts it will sky rocket unless someone inside ****s it up.....

XM is adding more and more commercials everyday, I was in walmart last night and they had it going in the electronics department and for a good steady couple of minutes it was nothing but commercials and they played 2 songs and back to commercials..No dj's just advertising BS.

This will make listeners stop paying the fee to cut the advertisements out.

Same way with Tivo dont know if you follow that type of thing but they always were honored by their product for cutting out commercials, well this cost them money by doing so and they realized they can make more by including them in.....

Sirius is the only satellite radio that is holding tight and moving forward and sticking to their name....As long as noone goofs up inside the business, I dont see a reason not to invest....Would be nice if it dropped to that 3 dollar level again.

Well, they just names the old viacom guy CEO yesterday and thats why its up so high right now. I think he will do good for the company sice hes the one who made Infinity Broadcasting (Howards current employer) what it is today.

Im trying to hold out until I can at least get 200 shares for 1000.

I saw Stern on Dave Letterman last night, he sure seems to think it will be the wave of the future. There's a very good chance he's right about this satilite radio thing with Clear Channel and Colin Powell's kid taking the old chainsaw to that free speech thing.
