Sure, he couldn't match Hopkins for handspeed, but he was there to fight. Not only that, but he showed he could hit and be hit. He took big shots off Bernard that would have staggered many other fighters.

Yet still I come on here and see him derided as a "limey ***". Yet Oscar is a top rank fighter after being left on the canvas in the 9th, squealing like a *****?

Howard has cleaned up at European level yet not been given the openings like many other fighters. He's not a pretty boy like DLH. But on Saturday night he went 12 rounds with the #1 p4p fighter in the world, and - while he lost on points quite heavily - he was never troubled, and was the aggressor throughout. So what's the verdict now on Mr. Nuff Tump?

the agressor throughout? Ill give you the first two or three rounds but Howard didnt really do anything to press the pace after that i thought. Also it seemed like he spent a good majority of the 2nd half of the bout sucking wind

You must be the first openly homosexual poster that I have ever seen in a forum. Although I am not a homosexual I must say you have a lot of guts to show that you are openly gay on a boxing website.

he went the distance with the undisputed champion without ever being seriously hurt or even close to being on the canvas. He was definately the aggressor for the majority of the fight, but hopkins used his handspeed and intelligence to outpoint the man easily. I appreciate that what he did took a lot from him, and he kept coming forward when he was clearly losing almost every exchange (a few rounds excluded). He did himself and Britain proud in the ring, anyone who says otherwise is a fool

I'm not really gay, this was just my part of the bargain for losing a bet... I had to give him 1600000+ points as well.

well he fared better than tito did against b-hop
better than delahoya and joppy did too.

better than hakkar and allen.

what more does he have to do.

no one gave him a chance but he made it competitive
and lets not forget hopkins did enough.nothing more

hopkins is 40 nowI don't see why that should be an excuse. If he's too old to get in a competitive match then he should just retire and get the f*** out of there. Even Johnny Ruiz is more exciting to watch.

Sure he went 12 with the best fighter in the world but that means **** too me especially when Hopkins at this stage is only interested in winning not looking sensational.

Eastman never hit Hopkins, I was hoping that he would sell out much more than he did...Eastman did not go ALL IN.

Call Oscar what you want but Oscar moved to 154 when he probably shouldn't of and then did the unthinkable and went after one of the greatest middleweight champs of all time...call him a ***** cuz he is better looking than most or whatever the guy is a fighter and now is back at a weight where he truly belongs.

Hopkins will never be in an exciting fight again with a middleweight or Jr. Middlewight....those fighter won't sell out and try to exploit his age by fighting as rough as possible.

Calzaghe and Johnson are the two matchups that I would like to see...both guys would put Nard in a fight he has not been in in a long time, a pressure fight from the get go. These are the only fights that have the potential to show Nard's age, period!

haven't seen hops - eastman yet, but it sounds like eastman is a least a tough guy, i respect eastman more, but i knew nothing about him before this fight...i'd like to see hops against johnson, but it won't be an easy fight for hops. glencoffee is in his prime as far as strength, hops can outbox johnson but glencoffee's swarming attack will really punish Hops( if the fight happens at 175 ).

He needed to fight a certain kind of fight against Hopkins, but he laid an egg out there.
He didnt adjust at all during the fight and couldnt seem to cut the ring off at all.
It was obvious his plans was to get close and throw, but he kept letting Hopkins tie him up.
the only round he was effective was the 5th where he let his hands go to try and make his prediction a reality.

oh well.

it is kinda funny you want props to be given to Eastman while you call Hopkins the coward.
the only way Eastman was going to win was to be busier. but being busy means hopkins is gonna get his licks in as well. So it appreared to me that he wasn't looking forward to Hopkins counters. but i'm not gonna be a jackass and call the guy a coward.
