I know this is a common "presumption" but is there an actual mathematical law which says so?

The reason I ask is that someones pointed out that, atleast on a calc.

10/0=infinity

and therefore infinity * 0 should equal something instead of 0

So I'm believeing that the above is just a presumption and not an actual mathematical law. Is it?

Yes it will always happen if a/b = c then c * b = a

In a division in a away you are always asking how many times the divisor (b) will go into the dividend (a) and that number is the quotient (c)

x/0 is undefined, but x/a where a aproaches 0 is infinity. a becomes infinitissimally small then x/a becomes infinitely large. Try some examples. 1/1=1, 1/.1=10, 1/.01=100, 1/.001=1000,...,1/.000000000001=10000000000 and so on. Note that as the denominator approaches 0 but never really becoming zero, the quotient becomes larger ang larger. This is the main idea of the epsilon-delta definition of a limit which says.... never mind....I might be confusing you but you may ask your next question...hehehehe.... :D

Its a law. Yes A will alwyas be = to B*C.

You can't use 10/0 = infinity as 10/0 is undefined. If you wanan take it literally like that you can say what if 10/x->0, x being a number approaching zero closer and closer (really small). 10/x->0 would give you a really big number. That same really big number if you multiply that again by x which is a really small number would give you 10.
