On the subject of Superboxer, Big Bob V Hoppa was fairly appalling, really felt sorry for Bob, he needs to hang them up.

Bika coming up this Thursday, can't say I've ever heard of his opponent, any decent fights on the card?

Hoppa-Bob might have been terrible but at least Superboxer is making an attempt to put some well-matched fights on television.

Hopefully this manages to kick Fox's arse into gear. Their cards are absolutely appalling.

A mate of mine works at an electrical retailer and he reckons that sales of digital set-top boxes have skyrocketed over the past few weeks purely because of people wanting to watch Superboxer.
So the interest in boxing is definately there, but it will only be sustained with some good quality cards to keep the fans entertained.

People better make sure they've got HD TV's, my old man bought a set top box but doesn't get one HD, he was pretty devastated.

Basically one of the new channels - "ONE" - have started showing live cards on free to air TV on Thursday nights. Billy Dib was the Main Event on the first card, then Tim Bell and the other night it was Hoppa-Mirovic II. This week it is Bika. They show 4 fights in total.

For those wanting to catch Sakio tonight I wouldn't miss the first round. He is fighting some Argo coming off a few straight losses who recently got KO'd in the first by a guy with only 4 fights. Could be a short one.

Still, at least One are making the effort to get our best fighters on live free to air cards. That is a start. You're right though, semi-reasonable opponents would be nice. Lets hope he surprises us.

The 1st and 3rd fights were pretty good last night. The 2nd and 4th were awful. They shouldn't let that fool that tanked it against Medley last week and then King last night fight in Australia anymore, PK was right.

I only caught the last two fights last night.

Antonakos showed some heart to last the 10 rounds against the more experienced Egberime. I'd love to see Egberime fight Zappa now.

We didn't expect Bika's opponent offer much resistance and we were right. He clearly didn't want to be there. Like to see Sakio back in action again soon.

Well that ends Superboxer (for now at least). I'd like to see a change in commentary for when it returns. Daryl Beattie needs to stick to motorsport and Johnny Lewis should be replaced by Briggsy. I don't mind James White as ring announcer even though last night he announced Bika as a "Junior Middleweight champion".

New programs always experience teething problems. I hope the producers can tweak a few things for it to come back bigger and better.

I agree, the show has a solid base to work from but changes need to be made. Particularly to the commentary team. Someone like Briggs would be a great addition.

Yeah I think Briggs would be a great addition, Bika's fight was laughable, the bloke completely faked being knocked out.

Beattie & Greg Rust commentating boxing? You've got to be kidding. Johnny Lewis's love of the sport can't be questioned but he just doesn't cut it as a commentator or special comments guy in any way shape or form.

Agreed. Johnny was pretty terrible.

Of those commentators PK is the only one I would keep.

I think it would be fair to say that Channel 10 rarely think outside the same commentary box, pardon the pun.
I remember their coverage of the 2007 Rugby Union World Cup with Bill Woods, Rust and Beattie. It was dreadful.

Perhaps they should rope in Sandra Sully to do some boxing commentary. It couldn't really be much worse, and it might attract more female viewers...

I do believe there are shows planned for the rest of the year starting in September.
