View Full Version : Fergie feeling threatened

So old Bacon Face is starting to feel the heat from his sky-blue neighbours. He's ranting like an cheerleader who showed up to the prom wearing the same dress as her rival.

"It's City isn't it? They're a small club with a small mentality. All they can talk about is Manchester United; they can't get away from it," he said.

In other news apparently Jose Mourinho is tipping City to win the league this year. I think that would be far fetched but a top four finish better not be out of the question!

Yep, Ferguson has took the bait and making a prat of himself yet again. The other week he said he wasted bothered by what was going on at Man City and now this?

You only look like a prat if you take the bait and get reeled in. Ferguson routinely takes the bait, then pulls the rod and the fisherman in after it.

The other week he said he wasted bothered by what was going on at Man City and now this?
If people will keep begging for comment, what can you do.

And why would he be threatened? He's already seen this challenge off -- bankrolled rivals coming from the fringes of contention to try and unseat him -- more than once.

Funny squealpiggy reverse psychology spin attempt. But Ferguson is drily pointing out city's obsession with our club in response to being questioned about their supposed threat for the nth time. Blue is the color of tears. Red is the color of fire. :)

Fergie makes the same comments about any team he feels is a threat, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, there are no exceptions.

Hughes has a proven track record with Blackburn. He is highly respected by other managers in the Premiership. He is also adept at getting the most out of the transfer market. We shall see.

That didn't work out with Kaka. But with a full off season he's brought in some great players with the highlights being Tevez and Barry.

With Blackburn he did a great job in the transfer market.

Villa finish higher than City.

City = Real Madrid

All these top players and cash splashed. But they still end up disappointing.

He did a good job for Wales too, with that said it's still a huge task to get City even in the top 4 this season. Arsenal appear to be the weakest of the top 4 but I reckon with Eduardo fit and Arshivan they'll be stronger this season. I don't think they'll miss Adebayor one bit if they keep those two fit. They need to add another defender and a midfielder to their squad though.

McCarthy and Santa Cruz were really good business.

Honestly the season hasn't even started yet and you've already got what will be a familiar headline:

Ferguson fumes at ref after loss

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/8192532.stm

He might have a legitimate shout if it wasn't for the fact that he ALWAYS blames the ref when United lose.

I disagree. With perhaps the exception of Chelsea City has the strongest squad in the Prem.

What Utd do have is experience and probably the greatest manager in British football history.

City Squad

Goalkeepers
Shay Given, Joe Hart, Stuart Taylor
Defenders
Joleon Lescott, Sylvinho, Wayne Bridge, Javier Garrido , Nedum Onuoha (ENG) Micah Richards, Kolo Toure , Pablo Zabaleta
Midfielders
Gareth Barry, Nigel de Jong, Kelvin Etuhu, Stephen Ireland, Michael Johnson , Vincent Kompany, Martin Petrov, Vladimir Weiss, Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG)
Strikers
Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy, Valeri Bojinov, Felipe Caicedo , Jô, Benjani, Robinho, Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez

First 11

Given
Lescott, Toure, Bridge, Richards
Barry, Ireland, Robinho, Wright Phillips
Adebayor Tevez

On the bench - Kompany, De Jong, Taylor, Santa Cruz and Bellamy

Utd cannot match that squad.

Ever heard the expression "Ferguson time"? It's well known that if United need a goal at the end of the game then play is often mysteriously extended at the end of the game.

That's part of the issue. Ferguson is the first to blame the referee when results don't go their way, but he's the first to pressure the ref to make sure things go his way at Old Trafford.

Of course it could all be just bitterness on my part. But I'm not sure how you manage to score in the sixth minute of four minutes of injury time without some degree of collusion.

quality, i see fergie was putting the boot into city after the game, calling them the noisy neighbour whos just been silenced

City managed to put three goals past united when two strikers are injured and one is suspended. They managed this at Old Trafford. The deciding goal came two minutes after the game should have ended.

I fail to see how United have "silenced" anyone or how City were "owned". Stupid rags are acting like they won by five goals when it was a knife-thin victory under dubious circumstances against a team that they were all saying would never amount to anything anyway!

And this rocky cunt is just butthurt because I pwned him about celtic.

Chelsea are spoilt for choice with Ballack, Lampard, Deco, Mikel and Essien in the middel of the park. We've got Aquiliani, Mascherano and Steven Gerrard. Hahahaha, you really think he is getting most out of the market? Lol, you could get 4 continental centre half's better than Lescott with that kinda money. He may be respected by the other 4-4-2 playing english bums, but his so called 'proven' track record of UEFA Cup qualification won't be enough V europe's best 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 tactical geniuses.

You really are dumberthan I thought. I'm talking about midfielders and you go on about Wayne Bridge and rejects like Bellamy! And we never wanted Barry or made a move for him this year as Alonso's departure was not expected. The Barry saga was clearly spelt out as a money-saving move as he plays in different positions which could be good for the bench! If Alonso and Rafa didn't have differences, he never would have tried getting rid of such a player to replace him with a bum. TBH, I'm glad you got that ****bag and we got an Italian International. They actually won the World Cup whereas bums like England just talk about winning it!

And then spend three seasons waiting to see if they could adjust to the English game?

He may be respected by the other 4-4-2 playing english bums, but his so called 'proven' track record of UEFA Cup qualification won't be enough V europe's best 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 tactical geniuses.

Last season we made the quarter finals of the UEFA cup against all expectations and without the calibre of players we have this year. And suggesting that "tactical genius" entails playing 4-3-3 formation sort of places your football knowledge into perspective.

You really are dumberthan I thought. I'm talking about midfielders and you go on about Wayne Bridge and rejects like Bellamy!

Well I was talking about players. Of course in your world midfielders are the only ones in the middle of the field. You probably think that they're attached there on a metal stick ready to be spun around when the ping-pong ball drifts close enough.

And we never wanted Barry or made a move for him this year as Alonso's departure was not expected.
