I run five mornings a week no matter what the weather.

It's just another discipline in my opinion.

I live in the Pacific Northwest. My house is in a microclimate near the Olympic Peninsula -- which is technically a rainforest, BTW -- and around these parts it rains on average 300 days a year. It rarely rains hard, but it seems like it's always foggy, misty, or drizzling. (We say, "It never rains, but it never stops.") Today it's 74 and overcast with a light drizzle from time to time. Great wood-splitting weather.

I have two, 5000mm-waterproof track suits, because one is always in the wash.

UnderArmor socks under cotton socks help keep wet feet from getting blisters, BTW.

I like running in the rain. I think it feels good and helps me stay cool.

I live in New England....we've been getting rain all god damn summer. Sh!t the whole month of June we only got like 5 days it didn't rain.

But when its lightning.....fuk that. I was running a few weeks ago and it started to thunder and lightning. I was so far from home too when it started I was scared sh!tless lol.

I did it once, it actually was better.

Less sun= more energy.

The only thing I regretted was having my Ipod getting destroyed by the rain. Now I carry a waterproof case just in case.:boxing::headbang:

It's about being sensible. I won't run in the rain because I will catch a cold which will diminish work rate. Either go to the gym or put in more work when the weather shapes up.

It rains all the time here. I run in the rain 9 or 10 months out of the year; hell, I ran in 60 degree rain this morning in a polypro shirt and shorts. I rarely get sick. If you're acclimated to it you won't catch cold.

The tough part is what wet socks do to your feet after a few miles.

I find the treadmill just fine to do my miles.

am putting in 4 miles in daily right now. Dont get tired and feel my belly light as hell.

Looking to expand to 8 by mid-next month. :headbang:

that's good, but you ever consider the amount of cold that goes inside your body and will later on show up as you get older?

reasearch it that sh1t aint good playa.

Shorts is fine, just wear a sweater at least.

yeah the treadmill is ok but running outside is preferable, expecially if you are doing sprints.

Why would you do 8 miles per day? unless you are a pro thats just not necessary, am fights are 3x3 min rounds for above 17 years old now, 4-5 hard miles 3-4 times per week plus sprints or a shorter more intense run 1-2 times per week is what id do

sorry, amount of cold=joint pains, artritis...etc.

My dad has it, and his doc told him that it came from when he was young. He use to run in the mornings without a sweater. He just used double t shirts and shorts.

It's not my problem, but I wouldn't recommend it. Joint pains when your old only do you worse instead of helping.:nono:

I just want to do what everyone else in the gym don't do. Give's me that extra confidence, and I feel the stamina difference in the ring.

Am going to start sprints soon though and reduce my mile runs to 4-5 days a week instead of 7.:headbang:

Eh. I'm already old. I'll talk to my doc about it but this is the first time I've heard of it.

Boy, if you didn't run in the rain and cold around here you'd never run at all.

Joint pains do develop by excess amount of cold. I wear sweaters after every workout event if it's hot. It's the only way to be positive about not developing joint pains.

running in the rain reminds me of American Football and Football. Where it muddy and hard to move and everyone wants to score.

What about running at 100 F and higher have anyone done that?
