What are your thoughts lads?

I'd say the scally is bang to rights from the evidence I've seen.

Any average Joe on the street would get bird for that but Gerrard will get a slap on the wrist and pay the victim some compensation.

What???

If clocking someone in an argument who was not badly hurt is worth doing time then half of us are very lucky.

It was a scuffle, you see this a hundred times a night across the country if not more. The fact that Gerrard is not an average Joe is the reason its gone so far.

Originally the guy tried to settle out of court but once Gerrard refused he pressed charges.

Gerrard is guilty no doubt but of what....giving a gobbing piss head a slap, hardly crime of the century is it?

Mate, I can punch but he earns twice as much as I earn a year in a week by being able to kick so.....who cares.

These blokes like Gerrard become rich and famous and then forget that they're really just normal people themselves, who just happen to have been fortunate enough be blessed with a gift [in his case being a very good footballer].

Some people like that think they're above everybody else.

Stuff like this shouldn't go to court, I was arrested for affray and was given a caution in the end, the fact it had to go to crown court in front of a jury is a waste of bleeding money. Seen a lot worse on a night out and nothing has ever happened. Was this Marcus McGhee charged with anything at all?

McGhee needed four stiches to the head, got a black and lost a tooth but apart from that he wasn't badly hurt.

I think you'll find it was Gerrard who was the 'goobing piss head' because McGhee wouldn't put his music on and apparently hit him in self defence(more then once) because McGhee got up from his chair LOL?

If you hit someone more then once, then it isn't self defence if the other bloke ain't throwing anything back is it? and never mind the fact that Gerrard's mates laid into him as well.

Gerrard got away with it anyway which is hardly surprising.

The best part is he smacked him because he wouldn't put on Phil Collins.

Your missing the point here, the fact this even went to Court is pathetic when people walk every day for far far worse.

The facts here are not clear because we weren't there but the Jury sat through the evidence and came back almost immediately with 'Not Guilty' therefore there were obvious mitigating circumstances that led to this incident.

Most witnesses said Gerrard was calm and had previously been in good spirits whilst being generous with another group whilst McGhee was being aggressive in his manner and obtuse.

Gerrard admitted throwing punches and hitting the guy therefore he was a lucky lad to get away with but there was obviously mitigating circumstances.

Therefore back to my point, if two people have a disagreement fuelled by alcohol and they both play a part and both walk away reletively unhurt, how can that then warrant a ****ing jail term???
At worst its a civil case.

The only reason this was taken further was that McGee pressed charges after attempting unsuccessfully to settle out of court.

BTW not sure about the stitches, black eye and loss of tooth but I have no reason to doubt you, however both parties agreed Gerrard threw 3 punches and landed one therefore did he do all that damage with one shot??? I would guess not, as it was Gerrards mates who have admitted their guilt I would suggest that some of this 'terrible' damage was done by them so again did Gerrard deserve to do time?

What do you call 12 liverpool fans in a room?

The Jury.

It's ok though, the next I go out and the dj won't let me play my music, me and my mates are going to kick **** out of him. And then claim self defence when my mate elbows him in the face, and he gets back up and looks at me!

He's a professional athlete and they all do boxing training. I bet he can throw punches better than some pro's such as journeymen and other white boys
