Its a shame but we all know the risks, but i honestly think boxing has saved a lot more lives than its taken.

That story does suck ass, imagine gettig beat in your first fight and then die?

Its sad, really. Its bad that most of the people dont realise that when they get in the ring they go to war and may not come back. It is even more sad that most of the viewers dont realise just how much these fighters on the ring are risking.

boxing can be very dangerous. any sport involving hits is dangerous.

rugby has more death annualy than boxing , people died playin football .

if youre about to get hit , there is always a risk , and it s the part of trainers referees and commisions to protect people involved.

Duk Koo Kim, 23, a lightweight from South Korea, died after being knocked out by Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini in Las Vegas.

This was the saddest thing ever to happen in a boxing ring. I feel almost as bad for the people who watched it as Duk Koo Kim.

oh I agree, whole heartedly

As a former high school football player I can tell you, whoever catches the ball on kickoff usually takes a sharp blow to the head, helmet or no helmet, I've seen three different occassions (one in practice, two in games) where players lost consciousness.

Once we were doing what we called 'blood alley' where it's 1 player vs another, they would line up defensive lineman vs offensive lineman, etc. Our best offensive lineman was this 320 lb fat black guy named Tiny..He went up against a weak inexperienced 225lb defensive end, Burks. Burks led with his head unfortunately, and the impact was as loud as a .357 magnum's discharge. he was ko'd for about thirty minutes, until the ambulance arrived, luckily he came around but he suffered a severe concussion. **** like that is extremely unhealthy. you gotta think ,the force on that impact was the initial body weight of both people, + their squat maxes, that's well over a thousand pounds. that small padding on the helmet is nothing when it comes to a hit like that.

However since more players play football and rugby, you can't really say they have more injuries, because I'm sure if you do a per-1000-participants study, you'll find that boxing is far riskier.(brain injury)
