View Full Version : The best Mike Tyson fight/s?

While any Tyson fight nowadays has to be considered a gamble, there was a time, particularly in his first reign, when he was considered unbeatable.

Still one of (the?) biggest names in boxing, he's arguably up there with Ali as a boxing name that's in the mainstream and will continue to be so for decades to come. And he was damned exciting to boot.

But which were his most exciting bouts? Vote (multiple choice is allowed)... but as some of his most prominent bouts were ones where he lost, some of those are included too...

IMO opinion his from what i've seen i liked the berbick fight, he was just unstoppable and looked terrific.
An exciting fight was the first bruno fight, his skills already started to dimish, he had very little headmovement in that fight, but it was an actionpacked fight nonetheles.
i never saw but i heard the 2 ruddock fight where pretty exciting

It did (I've just been on boxrec to check the most prominent Tyson fights - should I have included the Ruddock ones??) it was also Ring Upset of the year.

The fight sucked. So much hype, only for Tyson to be thoroughly dominated

you must be a kid..........

between asking for points before posting fights, posting just your list and expecting per-fight point donations, insulting schmeling's corpse, and this thread..I have come to the conclusion that you are mentally weak. weak like klischko's skin around his left eye.

I personally liked his 2 fights with Razor Ruddock. That was when Tyson was still fierce & that was the only fight where I thought he could get KO'ed with 1 punch from that guy. Razor Ruddock was a beast back then.

Sorry, but... what's this got to do with the thread?

I ask for points for fights not for the points, but as a way to ensure that the fights get to people who want them, not for leeches. I don't like spending two hours uploading a fight only for someone to download it without the manners to say thankyou. Strange, maybe, but that's the way it is. If I put in that amount of effort, I expect at least a thanks.

I "just posted my list" because I ran out of time to do anything else.

As for being mentally weak, the feeling really is mutual.

Still don't see what's wrong with a harmless, fun little thread like this one. Plus, it gives me an idea of what to upload first as a priority.

I've just made Berbick v. Tyson, but I'll do that later. For now I'll upload the shorter Spinks fight, which should be a lot quicker...

You act like it's hard work or something uploading a fight. For me, it's very easy. I goto yousendit.com and type in my email, click upload and check back two hours later. You are acting like you are doing hard work for 2 hours or something.

And lets not mention that time you uploaded a fight split in 12 files, each file 1 round, proving you have the brain of a bird.
or that other time you uploaded a fight that was 1.5g split into three, rather than zip it up like my 6 yr old nephew knows how to do, you upload it in the raw video format like a clown.

and what does it have to do with the thread? Everything. I'm sure I'm not the only person sick of birdbrains like yourself starting tyson threads and other beat to death issues 24/7.

edited: ppl like you suck, that view people who just d/l without contributing points 'leeches'

I never contribute points to anyone, but I've uploaded like 5 legendary nights without asking for points and got em donated to me anyway

You are acting like you are doing hard work for 2 hours or something. No, but if I downloaded a fight you'd uploaded, I'd say thankyou. Maybe I shouldn't have got narky about it (not with you personally, I add) but it's manners. That's all I'm saying - whether it's hard work or not is not the issue. Besides, 80% of my fights I'm taking direct from my video tapes, so yeah, there is a bit of work involved...

And lets not mention that time you uploaded a fight split in 12 files, each file 1 round, proving you have the brain of a bird.
or that other time you uploaded a fight that was 1.5g split into three, rather than zip it up like my 6 yr old nephew knows how to do, you upload it in the raw video format like a clown.I concede both those points, and can offer very little defence other than I didn't know better. I do remember well that 12 file upload. Nowadays I've downloaded the software (and understand how to use it) so that I could merge all 12 files together. Better still, I'd know how to decrease the bitrate so I wouldn't have to edit out the between-rounds in the first place. But this was my first time - surely even your 6 year old nephew had to learn once? Is my greenness with new (to me) technology really such a crime?

and what does it have to do with the thread? Everything. I'm sure I'm not the only person sick of birdbrains like yourself starting tyson threads and other beat to death issues 24/7.You see, I actually think I'm being quite disciplined here, in that's the dozenth time you've criticised my intelligence and I haven't once criticised yours.

As for the thread... hey, if you don't like it, don't join it. As I said, it was just a little bit of fun and a way for me to decide what Tyson fight to upload (yeah, yeah, I'll ***** if no one says thankyou, I know) next. A thread is always new to someone, and I'm sick of feeling anxious about posting something potentially "old" to longer-term members just in case I get my ears chewed off by a mannerless smack-talker. I'd love to know what people thought of Tyson-Lewis but I don't want the obligatory "you ****in returd ***git" response.

Oh - 16 people have voted in this poll now. That's 16 people that found it of interest. As I said, there are plenty of more threads out there, and any issues you have with me I still maintain aren't really relevant to this thread.

18... Slipx, if you're going to keep editing your posts, how am I supposed to keep up?

I've tried to reason and be calm, but I've got nowhere, so let's just put it like this: you don't like me, I don't care, just don't bother me and I won't bother you. Deal?

I never contribute points to anyone, but I've uploaded like 5 legendary nights without asking for points and got em donated to me anywayYeah, so have I... I don't care about points per se, it's just the principle behind it.

I don't actually view people who don't provide points leeches, that's not it at all. Listen now, cos I'm not going to say this again: if someone comes on, takes a fight that a person has taken the trouble to upload (no matter how little effort/work involved, etc.) without even having the manners to say "thankyou", that's bad grace. That's what I call a leech. I'd give all the points back - I really don't care - it's just that that way I know people who want the fights really do get them, rather than a bunch of passer-bys with no manners. Dig?

For the last time: irrelevant to THIS THREAD. You don't like this thread? Don't join it. Go and fire your barbs at me where at least it's relevant. You're referring to stuff that's not even in this particular section.

I see after all this that you're just a 20-year-old little kid. That explains why you're such a prick and why I've wasted my time. Oh, incidentally, I HAVE been holding back, but I should have clarified two things earlier: 1. Yeah, so what, I had to learn how to upload files, it's still YOU that's the halfwit; 2. Go f*** yourself and leave me alone. Prick.

next time everyone wants to hang you, I sure won't be the only guy defending you

and boy am I ever sorry I defended you in the first place when everyone was calling you a piece of **** etc.

You call me a 20 year old kid, yet you are the one that made an immature comment about Schmeling's corpse that would be expected from a fifteen year old at the most. You bragging about being older only makes you look bad, because no respectable adult would have done that. why rick reeno didn't ban you is unfathomable, but even if he did you'd probably find a way to get back on here, just like most rats find a way to get to their food..

You see, this is what confused me... because I had your name in my mind as being something okay, but I couldn't quite place it. Now I remember - you did say something nice about me that time. But then all this attacking.

Yeah, the kid remark was below the belt, but Hell, don't try and act like a cry-baby victim about it - I've had unprovoked abuse from you in this thread and tried to resolve it passively at least three times - every time I just get more abuse back.

Rick's kindly let me come back, and I've been keeping my nose clean. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna sit here and be pot-shotted indefinitely. If you keep on pushing, there's gonna come a time when you get told to f*** off. Okay?

The fights against Razor have gotta be the best. But my fave KO is Pinklin Thomas. The guy was out on his feet and Tyson was still laying in. Excellent!

:hijacked: Apologies to those who came in to discuss Tyson, only to find the thread overtaken.

Anyway, I'd planned to upload Tyson vs. Berbick to tie in with the current leader of this poll. Unfortunately YouSendIt keeps crashing at the moment, so in the downloads forum is one I prepared earlier (and currently joint third): Tyson vs. Holyfield I.

The second Razor Ruddock-fight is the first fight that Tyson proves something, even though it was not his best performance, he took some heavy left hands from Ruddock and kept coming. I also consider Ruddock the best opponent Tyson fought and defeated.
