I know Andre Ward won the Olympics and Dirrel only took bronze but in my eyes and from what i've seen so far dirrel has a better pro style than Ward. Ward still seems to fight like an amatuer jumping in and out and not going after his opponents when their hurt. Dirrel has an agressive style mixed with speed and power and fights from both the right and lefthand stance effectively. This my opinion but im sure others see it differently.

I heard Ward was rocked a little bit in the first round of his last fight, but still I like Ward as a pro fighter he seems very ring savvy and it looks like he does eveything well.

Oh don't get me wrong ward has a bright future and has great skills but something about Dirrels style makes me think that if they fought as pros he would have the upper hand.

I've never seen Dirrel as a pro, but I've seen him in amatures and I know he's a solid fighter as well. Dirrel's is like 6'2 I think there is a chance (I hope) he moves up to heavyweight, and he could make some serious noise there. It would be great to see an all-around boxer move up to heavy, I think he'd bring more to the table up there than Byrd does right now.

I dont think its that he doesnt have enough experience i just think he has to develop a better style for the pro fight game. He seems timid to get hit and mix it up.

I agree, if he can get up there I think his style will make a lot of noise in the Heavyweight division. He's aggressive and tactical and I think thats what the heavyweight division needs.

I sent this same question to MaxBoxing writers Doug Fisher and Steve Kim last week for their Web Shows Mailbag segment and they actually aired it!
Here it is: JPboxer3 on MaxBoxing, asking whos the better prospect as a pro,Andre Ward or Andre Dirrell (CLICK HERE). (http://s4.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=235AUF03YTYJ82Z623W0WEQYQG)
I think Wards chin is suspect and he fights like he's afraid to get hit.Right now,I think he's more of a suspect than he is a prospect.I think Andre Dirrells ring instincts, speed and power that he's shown in his first two fights will carry him a long way in boxing.

Right know, I'll go with Dirrel. Not cause Ward was seriously stunned in that first round, but because Dirrel is knocking people the **** out. He just seems stronger and more suitable for the pro style.
