I don't hate him...but I wouldn't pay to see him fight.

I can say that I honestly do hate Ruiz, EXCEPT sometimes when I can't sleep I'll throw in one of his fights and bam just like that I'm sound asleep!

I hate his style. Is it really boxing. I know he wears gloves and boxing trunks and all but c'mon! The man seems nice enough though. Now Stoney...that's another thing.

Ruiz seems to be a fairly nice guy, and he has some pretty good skills but I would rather have a root canal than watch one of his fights.

He had one fight I enjoyed, thats it. And he lost that fight.

I hate John Ruiz and John Ruiz fights!! I will admit I liked him in his fight with Tua.......

Ruiz bores me to death, the sad thing is, I believe he thinks he is a great, exciting fighter, which is obviously not the case. But his style works for him, and it seems nobody knows how to stop a 240lb mexican from hugging them for 12 rounds...

Ruiz, I just love his style. He is unique. When he tried to fight like a boxer vs Golota, he got dropped immediately...

Stylistically No, but his achievements cant be denied. He has one of the best resumes today in the heavyweight division and if that was any other persons resume he would be considered the number 1 heavyweight today.

I don't think his holding is any worse then Holy's headbutts or Lewis's uppercuts while pulling his opponents heads down. I didn't say he was entertaining, and he very well may hurt the sport with the casual fan. All I'm saying is that no matter how boring he is he's an effective fighter. I'm not going to hate on a fighter for doing what they have to do to win.

Boxing is the one sport where winning is not everything.
How you win, & even how you lose, is incredibly important.

If you can't hate on a fighter for the reasons most hate on Ruiz, then what the hell can you hate on them for ?

You could respect his courage to get in the ring in the first place, he is never the most skilled or most dangerous fighter in the ring. But I agree with the fact that he is an effective fighter and seems like a generally good guy. But damn he is the boxing equivalent of a root canal without anestesia performed by Mike Tyson while he's not on his pills.

Ruiz has a good record cause the judges hasnt done their job.

If i were alloud to knock all my opponents out to the croutch i would be a lot more succesfull boxer.

I'd rather listen to that jerk-off Ben Stein speak for 2 hours straight than watch a John Ruiz fight. That mother****er sucks. Anyone with eyes and a brain can see that when Ruiz has to box he sucks and he gets knocked the **** out.
