Barrera Camp Shares Secrets to Pacquiao

LOS ANGELES-The think-tank of Marco Antonio Barrera would want to see Manny Pacquiao win over Erik Morales so that nothing will get in the way for a mega-rematch between the past and current featherweight People's Champion by year-end.

Roberto Diaz, right hand man of Barrera, even went as far as relaying pointers and fight plans on how Pacquiao, the current People’s Champ, could duplicate what Barrera did last year when he beat Morales in their rubber-match.

"We want to see Barrera-Pacquiao II or even Barrera-Pacquiao III. We no longer want Barrera-Morales IV," added Diaz.

"My heart wants to see Manny win over Morales. I think a rematch with Pacquiao will be as big as Barrera-Morales III," said Diaz, who also revealed that Barrera has began training in Mexico City. The rematch hinges on whether Barrera can hurdle the challenge of the dangerous African Mzonke Fana.

"We want to finish it once and for all," added Diaz, saying that Barrera is aching to avenge the one-sided loss he suffered at the hands of the General Santos buzz-saw.

There is nothing in this world that Barrera wants more than to avenge his loss to Pacman. If Pacman wins over Morales, a MAB-Pacman II will be the BIGGEST MEGA event in recent boxing history, which will be difficult to surpass or even duplicate by any other boxer of any weight class in this modern times. And it could happen late this year! I'm already salivating like **** this early!!!

If that happens it will be a banner year for boxing! I love any match up between Pacman, JMM, Morales and Barrera. Any fight involving two of them is sure to be a fight of the year contender. JMM is the only one I might not want to watch fight someone who is not an aggressive boxer/puncher because his counterpunching only matches up well with someone like the rest.

What if they teamed heavyweights and welterweights. My team would be Rahman and Judah. Judah starts to get pummeled in the corner so he tags in Rahman, who comes in and KO's Tszyu with one punch. Awesome bout

If Barrera can neutralize Pacman's left cross, like JMM did after about the third round of their fight, he can put himself in a posistion to beat pacman. I think that Pac is a whirlwind or more appropriately a tornado but he is one dimensional, e.g. his left cross. Once you neutralize it, you can put yourself in a posistion to beat him.

Very true, plus Pac is gonna have a pyschological edge over Barrera because of the ass-whooping he gave to him the first time. I admire Barrera for wanting to avenge his loss but Pacman is a ****ing freight train and Barrera could easily get runover again.

Barrera and his camp needs to STFU. If they really want satisfaction as they put it by avenging his loss all he has to do is fight pac even if he looses.

But thats not the case, i bet they feel they will have an easier time with Pac than with Morales. Obviously the money is better with Morales than with Pac regardless.

i think barrera does want the rematch, its usually the promoters who want to protect their boxers, fighters would usually fight anybody, its just that promoters dont want to see their fighters stock go down if they lose.

i wanna see a pac vs barrera rematch so much, barrera actually had a rematch clause in the first fight with pacman so its gonna definatly happen no matter what, hopefully by the end of this year. if this fight comes off then barrera can have NO excuses this time if he were to lose about the distractions he said he had. i actually gave him the benefit of the doubt when he lost to pacman. make no mistake, pacman deserved to win and he was phenomenal that night and i was crushed when i saw what pacman done to him because barrera is my favourite boxer of all time, but i will NEVER count barrera out in a fight with anybody, he just keeps coming back, especially when he is the underdog, its like he has got something to prove and i genuinly believe he will beat pacman if they fought again, i dont think he will knock him out because he respects the POWER of pacman, i think he will try to box him like he boxed naseem hamed and try to duplicate what JMM did to pacman. no matter what its gonna be a great rematch and i dont think its gonna be as one sided as some people say it will be on here, boxers learn more after a defeat and i think barrera would have learnt a lot from his first fight with pacman, which is why i believe he will win if they fight again.

I believe if this fight does happen, like MAB says IFPac beats Erik, it will be a boxing show rather than the slugfest everybody is expecting. Before we jump to cnclusions and start making plans for this MABvsPACII we need to realize that Pac will be facing his toughest opponent to date in Erik Morales. Although he is coming off that decision loss to MAB, he is still as dangerous as ever. I also think people are forgetting that last year before throwing hands with MAB, he fought two world champs and took away their belts. Jesus Chavez and Carlos Hernandez, although not as highly regarded as Pac and MAB are still tough fighters who can bring the best out of you at any time. Not to take anything away from the Pac-Man but he had the tough task of trying to strip JMM of his titles, and then fought a (IMO) mediocre 3K Battery. I would like to see Barrera do the man dance with JMM and the winner gets the winner of Erik vs Pac. Only then would we be able to see who the true Featherweight Champion is. My Predictions:

3-19-2005
Erik W12 Pac

If and/or when they happen...
JMM W12 MAB

Erik W12 JMM

Pac W12 MAB

I don't think there would be anymore KO's unless some one gets careless, they all respect each others power to try and go for the KO. Just my opinion.

It's what he always did in his previous fights - go for the kill right from the opening bell, or at least in the early rounds. I believe Pac KO's MAB in a rematch, with or without distractions, judging how MAB fought with Morales 3. He was very lucky indeed to walk away with a decision. And to think that Morales looked not too focused on that fight. If he fought a 100% Morales, he wouldn't have a chance.

Anyway it goes, a MAB-Pac2's a sure all-time biggest blockbuster and a sure FOY! :fingersx:

If Morales wasnt 100%, which I think he WAS, that shouldnt take away from MAB's victory in the third fight. Barrera simply is the better man. I like Morales, but Pacman is going to run through him. I think Barrera has a better chance in a rematch than Erik Morales has against Paquiao.

I think this Pac/Morales fight is set to do better than the MAB/Morales3. So the numbers with Pac as the other guy in the ring are going to be impressive, and prolly better than a part 4 with Morales. So the money is not obviously better with a Barrera/Morales4.

That extra drama of "MAB wanting to exact revenge over Pac" should make a MAB-Pac2 more exciting and richer in purse than either the MAB-EM trilogy, Pac-JMM and now Pac-EM. These guys and the feather/super feather divisions are the most colorful and thrilling in boxing world right now. That's why Prince Naz is raring to make a come back and join the in the excitement. :FlagCanad

Well, latest news is that MAB is rooting for Erik after all.

But I think the Baby-Faced Assassin is actually torn between national pride and personal emotions. He HAS to root for a fellow Mexican so as not to antagonize his countrymen. But I really believe that deep down inside, he wants Pac to prevail so that he can settle an unfinished business with Pac. :boxing:
