GroundSt.Pound 07-18-2009, 09:07 PM Fedor has nothing to prove by fighting in the UFC. Liaison 07-19-2009, 12:24 AM And Woogie doesn't count... American_Ninja 07-19-2009, 02:39 AM All UFC fighters should have managers who look out for their best interests. Seems to me that Dana is the only one who calls any shots. Thats just not right. If you in the WAMMA org. you should be able to fight anyone you want regardless of what org. they are in. This doesnt happen much in other sports, not much in boxing either. The IBF guy cant fight the guy from the WBA? Get real Dana.......It's all MMA!!! crillz 07-19-2009, 02:16 PM I hope Fedor doesn't comes to UFC, I like the company and all it's just the man who signs the checks who I can't pass. his only claim to any fame is the men who fight for him, if they all left after their contracts was up he would be a pile of ****, so what does he do? he takes advantage of that to establish himself as the Diddy of this label or the Vince McMahon of the federation to call shots and run ****, say who can and who can't do **** and literally controls them like toys man, this is why Fedor hasn't yet made it to UFC because it isn't all about JUST fighting in UFC, that's just the face plate picture covering up the ugly truth which is what Dana wants and that's everyone who's worth a **** in MMA to be his money machine under UFC. like someone above said Fedor could have BEEN fought for UFC but that's not good enough to White, if he can't have you by the balls then it's no deal and he covers those sneaky, snakish ways with a cool attitude and a smile but he don't fool me yo I don't like that guy and Fedor should stay the **** away from UFC.. I bought the game just like any other fan of it but bull**** is bull**** no matter who is dishing it, that **** is WHACK! he's ****ing up the game man this isn't how it's supposed to be.. Does Fedor-Coleman1 count? Or Coleman was too far past it? In my view, Coleman was a bit past his prime, however I don't see the result being any different irregardless. If anything, Coleman's age probably would've merely effected his endurance, and neither fight lasted long enough for Coleman's endurance to be tested. In regards to the first fight, Coleman was essentially imposing his game plan the best he was able, and got caught in an armbar. This is a common thing for wrestlers, and I think Fedor would've pulled the same **** against any version of Coleman to ever wrap on the gloves. In the second fight Fedor was issuing a true beating prior to conceding the takedown, however the end result was essentially the same. A Coleman takedown to Fedor's guard, followed by a Fedor armbar. Oh I give him credit for the win over Mark, but others always play the age card (same thing with Kev). I think all this **** stems back to the Arona fight, a fight in which Arona would have won had it been in say the ufc, but **** that was nine years ago. Give him an awesome grapper, hell there’s one who’s willing to fight anyone, guy loves to fight, the boy in my sig, a guy whom is virtually without peer as a no-gi submission grappler, Jeff Monson. But this is MMA and Jeff gets smashed (though it would be interesting to see Fedor in Monsons guard). Personally, I believe Fedor isn’t in love with the game and does what he wants do to and that’s make a nice amount so his family live good (and Sambo of course). Ask GSP how he wants to be remembered, he’d say "A great fighter", ask Fedor, probably "A good man". In response to the last paragraph, I would say this is a common phenomenon among top-tier athletes. At some point, it merely becomes a job. That does not necessarilly mean he has gotten complacent to cruise through his career however. To me, he has shown nothing if not a willingness to take on all comers (barring the political situation with the UFC), as well as a propensity to be in his fighting shape. fallenloki 07-20-2009, 10:10 PM Fedor doesn't need to do ****. He's the GOAT in the sport. I remember reading a little while ago that he was thinking about retiring, so it wouldn't surprise me if he did soon. He has beat everyone that matters in the short history of MMA heavyweights with the exception of Randy Couture. I don't think a Randy fight is even relevant anymore. I'm not interested in watching him fight anyone in the UFC. Seriously, who is there for him to fight? 1. Lesnar? Not interested. He'd drop lesnar with one punch and hammerfist him like he did to Zuluzinho. 2. Cro Cop? Maybe if he gets back in gear 3. Mir? No. 4. Noguiera? He'd probably end his life this time 5. Randy? Maybe. 6. Velasquez? no. 7 Carwin? no. Nodogoshi 07-20-2009, 10:25 PM Fedor doesn't need to do ****. He's the GOAT in the sport. Brock may present some dangers due to his performance-enhanced body coupled with his style, however I believe Fedor would expose Brock in the worst way. skullduggery 07-21-2009, 01:07 AM Fedor doesn't need to do ****. Josh Barnett is a lot more dangerous fighter than Lesnar and Fedor is fighting him on Aug. 1st. Lesnar has shown he's vulnerable with his first fight against Mir. I still think Lesnar is a hype, just a white Bob Sapp with good wrestling background. skullduggery 07-21-2009, 01:14 AM Josh Barnett is a lot more dangerous fighter than Lesnar and Fedor is fighting him on Aug. 1st.
