View Full Version : Bisping - better off at Light Heavy!
teamwork7 07-15-2009, 10:20 AM This might sound stupid bearing in mind Bisping has just been Knocked out, but i beleive he would be better fighting at Light Heavy. First of all he had never been knocked out as a light heavy, yes he had a loss, but to a future champion in Rashad Evans. I just think that 1) the extra weight loss has caused him too look weak and feable - he had no punch resistance, and 2) This weight loss meant he had no power. Lets take the Rashad and Hamill fights, he took puches in that fight ( probably not as big and clean) but he stood up to bigger fighters than Henderson. Since he made his move down he has not looked the same - his fight with Leben was the key, if Bisping ( a light heavy) could not shake Leben who was destroyed by Anderson Silva, they he might as well have gone back up to light heavy, atleast in that division he had a slight biut more power with the extra weight he was carrying around naturually before and during his training camp and ineviatbley during the fight. I mean all you have to do is look at pictures of him in his Light heavy days and his last fight with Hendo ( who by the way was outstanding). He just looks healthier and a stronger fighter.

fallenloki 07-15-2009, 11:18 AM You've got to be ****ing kidding...
Michael Bisping sucks, it's not the weight. He's better off in the middleweight division because the competition is not as good there. Could you imagine him at light-heavyweight? He'd get crushed over and over.
At 205 he carried around extra weight, by no means was he any more muscular or anything. He looked borderline flabby, and it's obvious that it made sense for him to trim the fat and get down to the right division. I doubt he even cuts much weight to make 185!!
Michael Bisping has never had a lot of punching power... I mean, who are you trying to kid, he fought like 5 punching bags. Josh Haynes (12-10), Eric Schaffer, Elvis ****ing Sinosic (8-11), Charles McCarthy (10-5), and Jason Day (17-8).... That's sad. None of those guys had any damn power, and they're all D- class fighters. He fought Matt Hamill and got battered; that fight is a lost in my opinion and was gifted a home-town decision. He was even boo'd!!
He fought hard but clearly wasn't as good against Rashad, and then fought Chris Leben who is a punching bag that only throws windmill left hooks. Who the **** expected Bisping to KO Leben? That guy's got a MONSTER chin. He sucks, but he's got a solid chin.
Anyways, out of his first three tests, he only beat Leben.... Then they tried to throw him in against one of the sport's all time best competitors? Give me a break, anyone who knows a damn thing about MMA knew that Dan was going to wipe the floor with Bisping.
One last note... The UFC wanted Michael Bisping to work out so bad. He's their UK poster-boy and they wanted to build him up. They tried to tell you he was some sort of amazing kick-boxer. They gave him horrendously easy fighters... They couldn't protect him anymore and he got :killyou:
kswizzy99 07-15-2009, 11:49 AM lol, Bisping should go to the deepest division in the UFC???? lol. Bisping sucks. He isn't even worthy of being in the UFC. he should go to strikeforce or cage fighter where he belongs.
Savino 07-15-2009, 11:53 AM Bisping was starting to get to grips in round 2 before he got knocked out. I don't know if he would of gone on to win the round but he was starting to look alot better in the 2nd round than he was in first.
I think he is gonna come back stronger and hopefully can bounce back with afew wins. I think the UFC are giving him a fight at 105 in Manchester.

lol wtf? did you even watch the fight?
Bisping lost in the most embarrassing way possible. He did ZERO in that fight. he ran the whole fight and there wasn't a single game plan for his ablities that could have worked against Hendo and he knew it. And even his running couldn't save him from being brutally ko'd.
It got so pathetic that Bisping actually went for a shoot takedown against a guy who is a billion times better than Bisping on the ground. Bisping was like a deer in the headlights. seriously, it couldn't have been more worse of a loss than what he got.
Michael Bisping is not a bad fighter. Eric shafer is a solid opponent and Chris Leben has beating many good fighters like Mike Swick, Patrick Cote, both Jorge Rivera and Santiago, and Benji Radach to name a few.
Bisping is in my opinion a B fighter who has A fighter potential. He's above the C fighters as he had a sick run on TUF finishing every opponent. He beat a good fighter in
Eric Shafer and Leben and some ok ones like Day (who beat alan beltcher ), and mccarthey.
The problem with his last fight is simple. Michael Bisping is a top 10 fighter within the crappy ufc MW division, Dan Henderson is a top 5 fighter within the MW division around the WORLD

You can sorta almost see Dan's face turn stale and somber at the fact that he couldnt believe Bisping really tried to shoot for a takedown. Bispings corner (including Rampage) must have been bashin there heads in watching that fight

Yes I watched the fight and if you read what I said properly before typing. I said he was starting to look better in the 2nd round and looked more comfatable. His punches were starting to come off more and before the knockout he was starting to get back into the fight. I think Rogan and Goldberg even mentioned this also.

Well then you are just biased. Bisping didn't look comfortable for a single second in that fight. He was scared and it was blatantly obvious to everyone except for you. Bisping at no point was in that fight. If you say that he had a better 2nd round than the 1st before the ko, than that isn't saying much. He was still getting dominated for 100% of the fight.
You are just forcing the issue. I wouldn't be surprised if you're Bisping himself.
Still Pimpin 07-15-2009, 01:56 PM Everything Bisping had was shut down at every point in the fight. Joe Rogan is a commentator and he speaks on any action (many times prematurely). I think it was obvious to 80% of us that Dan beat that guy like an 80's style bar fight.
Dan was clearly walking into Bisping without the least bit of caution. Dan could find not one reason to respect Bisping that night. Anything Bisping landed just lowered his confidence more and more until he realized he had nothing left to offer.
I either want to see Bisping v W.Silva just for kicks because they both suck right now or Bisping goes to Strikeforce and gets Ko'd by Nick Diaz !!
GroundSt.Pound 07-15-2009, 02:56 PM Michael Bisping sucks, it's not the weight.
This is all you really had to say. LOL
Bisping is a horribly average fighter. He stand-up is meh, his wrestling is meh, his ground game is meh.
He has no power in his hands, he's pretty quick, his footwork is meh.
Bisping is just average in every sense of the word.
