I ahve bought every Fab album ,but it seems like they just fall short.... I like his lyrics, delivery, and style, but he does seem to be a bit lazy and not have an ear for an ALBUM..... Great Radio stuff, but lacking on what an album really is... A movie that can not be seen, but one that can be heard.... Thats my Idea of an album.... Another rapper that suffers from this is Cassidy..... Nick Fury 07-14-2009, 07:07 PM I agree with you both. Good comparison with Cassidy, I also think Jadakiss' albums always fall short. And I'm a huge Jadakiss fan. Truth 07-14-2009, 10:53 PM Fabolous first album was sick. i'm about to listen to that... Kobe Bryant 07-27-2009, 02:32 PM Just listened to the album in its entirety this morning at the gym. Pretty good album. This is probably his most diverse album. Really opened up on that track where he talked about not having his father around. Real good sinlges tracks and some bangers on there as well. This is his best album. It is a notch above his last which I was feelin but this is just a bit better. Fab is sharp with the lyrics. I won't say it's a 4/5 but I can't say it's a 3.5/5. It's more like a 3.8/5 to be precise with it. sisforshaq 07-27-2009, 02:37 PM I kept like 9 out of 16 tracks. th4l3pr3ch4un 07-27-2009, 04:39 PM Album of the year thus far. sisforshaq 07-28-2009, 03:03 AM Album of the year thus far. Disagree completely. th4l3pr3ch4un 07-28-2009, 10:31 AM Disagree completely. i just dont understand how you didnt like the "2nd half of the album" and that it dissappointed you. There were some very very well done tracks all throughout, ESPECIALLY the 2nd half. Your review was kind of weak man all you basically said was that you liked the keri hilson joint and the rest of the beats and hooks you didnt like. I dont know what you were listening to because your ear for beats might be off a bit, which is crazy because the production on this album was ABSOLUTELY TOP NOTCH. Your entitled to your opinion but anyone saying this is a weak album is out of there mind because realistically your not going to get a better album from 90% of the rest of hip hop right now and fab put out his best album to date. By the way, what album that dropped this year is better? And no i dont want to hear someone who only sold 5 albums. Truth 07-28-2009, 10:45 AM hey lep, im buying that **** today...i'll let u know what i think. it sounds real good from your review th4l3pr3ch4un 07-28-2009, 01:05 PM I re read my last post sisforshaq and i might have come off kind of hard, i like that you post reviews and contribute alot to the forum i just dont see eye to eye with you on this. sisforshaq 07-28-2009, 07:43 PM I re read my last post sisforshaq and i might have come off kind of hard, i like that you post reviews and contribute alot to the forum i just dont see eye to eye with you on this. I just feel like it's pretty generic. It didn't blow me away in the least bit. The 8 tracks I kept are the following. 1. The Intro 2. It's My Time 3. Imma Do It 4. Feel Like Im Back 5. Everything, Everyday, etc. 6. Throw It In The Bag 7. Lullaby 8. I Miss My Love Maybe it's because Im not a big Fab fan but I feel like he really is nothing special. The album for me was a pretty generic synthezied pop filler record. Sure some of the beats were fantastic and I am always a sucker for great production but an album that the production varies is better (Graduation as an example). Majority of the album is a warm synth feel that gets played out for me as the record progresses. I think Fab will always have those monsterous singles but it just felt to me like the album sounded the same and lost my interest after the 1st half. I think it's his best album to date and feel like he stepped his game up but it just didnt do anything wonderful for me. Albums that were better that didn't sell 5 copies? I thought Rick Ross came with a more complete and better sounding record. His beat selection was crazy, he showed up and spit fantastic lyrics on the album (not just catchy punchlines) and it gave me an overall sound (the miami gangster era). I thought Eminem brought a much better album, and Red and Meth's overall was a tighter record. EDIT- Mos Def's album was pretty ****ing solid aswell I thought. Unique and different than the mainstream but it hit it's points lyrically and production wise. (Chad Hugo etc). th4l3pr3ch4un 07-28-2009, 08:01 PM I just feel like it's pretty generic. Good post blackvenom2000 07-29-2009, 10:24 AM Gotta agree with sisfoshaq, I enjoy the record but like most Fab records it's nothing special just a few hot tracks and some clever punchlines, but all of which you'll forget in a month. gancho_al_igado 07-29-2009, 03:10 PM I will buy fabs album, Lyrically dude is ill and thats hard to find now a days. supRa 07-30-2009, 01:24 AM good album Kobe Bryant 07-30-2009, 11:10 AM Pachanga is an ill track. One of the best on the album. Nate126 07-30-2009, 01:02 PM Fab fell off hard. Mediocre. |
