View Full Version : I've been going to this cool group
Bluecifer 02-11-2005, 04:57 PM that I guess would be the Atheists equivalent to something somewhat "churchy".
Good, smart people. It's nice to hang out with like minded people, especially when your in the minority. Here's their site.

Oh, and if this counts as political or religious discussion feel free to move it, not that you need my permission, just lettin' you know I'm not gonna get all pissy.
The Mouse 02-11-2005, 04:58 PM No wonder you said you don’t believe in spirits, you’ve turned into a hippy!
Bluecifer 02-11-2005, 05:02 PM Did you look at it? Anyway, dude, I'm a total capitalist. I never give bums change and think that generally, people get what they deserve. I just like the company at these meetings. I haven't really done anything altruistic(not to say I won't, I used to volunteer at humane society), I like the social aspects.
The Mouse 02-11-2005, 05:06 PM Yea it sounds cool... I just read the whole page on General Humanist Beliefs.. they seem very anti-Christian to the point they make fun of it and have a sense of hatred towards it. Even good Christian websites don't dog on other religions or beliefs; whereas these "nice people" are very openly making fun of and judging others who actually believe in God.
Bluecifer 02-11-2005, 05:16 PM I disagree. Where did it seem to you that they were making fun of Christians or hated them? The only thing I saw that I thought might be offensive to Christians was the "why do you believe the Bible" thing, but I don't find that any worse than Christians saying that if you don't agree with them you're going to hell. They never even mention Christians or the Bible at the meetings.
Mr. Beelzebub 02-11-2005, 05:22 PM Seems like an interesting group. This old dude I know invited me to pass by his Mason's Lodge. I might go check it out.
The Mouse 02-11-2005, 05:24 PM but I don't find that any worse than Christians saying that if you don't agree with them you're going to hell.
Good point.
By the way, you're going to Hell.... LOL, j/k.. I had to.
Bluecifer 02-11-2005, 05:53 PM Lol, it's cool Mouse. BTW, don't you have to be a w.a.s.p. to be a mason? That's what this chick told me, never did research it myself though.
VulgarTheClown 02-13-2005, 08:10 PM interesting enough, if you read books on humanism and then read the satanic bible they are quite similar.
basically i'm saying that satanism is just a form of humanism given a dumb name.
GO SATAN!
Creed 02-13-2005, 09:49 PM Did anyone else get thier name switched back to the original when they moved over?
Shaolin Bushido 02-14-2005, 12:47 AM Lol, it's cool Mouse. BTW, don't you have to be a w.a.s.p. to be a mason? That's what this chick told me, never did research it myself though. No, that's not true. Ever heard of Prince Hall Masons? Google search that.
Shaolin Bushido 02-14-2005, 12:48 AM Did anyone else get thier name switched back to the original when they moved over? No, that looks like you registered for this forum awhile back under the Creed name. Look at the registration date.
VulgarTheClown 02-14-2005, 10:18 AM When my uncle moved out to Silicon Valley for work he started hanging out with masons. He became one from what I understand. and he is a ***.
neils7147933 01-14-2007, 05:56 PM The Purdue basketball game last night wasn't on national TV or an Indianapolis affiliate available on directv, so I had to use the rabbit ears to tune in the Lafayette station. Anyway, during the broadcast among mainly local advertising, there was an ad that came on a few times where some guy dressed like Ben Franklin is "selling" freemasonry. The commercial had phone numbers, for different "branches" (I guess that's the term) and a website. It was a very hokey presentation. I didn't know what to think...
