I have not seen the fight with Gatti. I heard this Gatti came in overweight? But how did he when they have a weigh in before the fight, and its common for fighters to 'bloat' up on the fight day. Can you shed me some light on what was the issue and how was it resolved?

gatti was 15lbs heavier than joey when they fought. the combo that ended it was a brutal three punch combonation, it messed gamache up and it was the last fight of his career.

someone messed with the scale or something like that, and gatti came in huge against joey, and damn near killed him, it was one of the most brutal ko's in the history of the sport, joey sued the NYSAC and won. that's why gattin brings his own scale now to the weigh-ins now and never lets hbo weigh him the night of the fight. joey tried to sue gatti and his people for tampering, but nothing happend to him , instead joey got the commission. joey's corner should have protested before the fight, cause you could tell there was a massive size difference between the two.. even though it retired joey he got millions from it(sueing) and now is a trainner...so...whatever,it's old news but watch it if you can cause it's brutal....!!!

Righteo, just watched the fight. Damn Gatti was a huge mofo. That Ko was damn right brutal. Never knew guys could bloat themselves up that much. Any other fighters put on as much weight after weigh in?

Yes James Toney against Roy Jones put I kow it was over 20 pounds he put on. Gatti vs Gamache one of his all time knockouts, if I was Gamache he should have tried to box because I do not think gatti would have lasted five rounds in those days. U should also see Gatti fight before that guy named Munoz he blasted out real bad

I remember Gatti came in weighing over a 160 lbs for that fight. Gamache was carried out on a stretcher after that fight I believe.

Gamache filed a lawsuit against New York State Athletic Commision and has also sued others involved. The suits are still going on.

PM me with your screen name and I'll send you a KO movie I made out of this fight that is around 36mb. I'm only sending to people on DSL or cable(No 56kers!). Quality is nice and has sound. I included all the knockdowns and a lot from Joey lying down and trying to get up and going back down. CHeers!

Haha, it's not that I hate you guys ;) It's just, I don't have 1 hour and half to 2 hours to send to each 56ker here. On cable or DSL it can be sent within 3-6minutes. My kind of time I'm willing to spend.
Just to add. After watching the fight again, let's not forget, Gatti got in a huge left hook AFTER the bell sounded. I felt so bad for Joey on that one. You could clearly see the weight advantage in every punch Gatti landed. Watching Joey's punches hit Gatti, was like watching water against rock. I don't see how Joey could have won at all in the long run and I don't see how Gatti could be proud on that win. Also makes you wonder how is it Gatti was predicting before that fight that he would win his next 25 wins straight? Hmmm, hmmm?

I heard a theory that the reason his eyes swelled so easily was because of his extreem bloatin up during that time of his carreer.

Believe because he stays more active with training he keeps a more constant weight in between fights now.

gamache was out when the 1st punch of the 3 punch combo landed.
i had the whole fight and half of the video was gamache lying
on the canvas..they tried helping him up about 5 times.

shame gatti was heavier cause gamaches record was
impressive on paper

Gamaches head banking the canvas will not have helped his situation either.

On fight night gatti weighted 14 pounds more than Gamache.

(Gatti weighted 19 pounds more than the weigh-in, Gamache 6 pounds.)

AND BEARING IN MIND HOW GAMACHE LOOKED EVERYTIME GATTI
CONNECTED DOES ANYONE REALLY THINK THAT IF THEYDE BOTH
BEEN THE SAME WEIGHT GATTI WOULDNT OF KNOCKED HIM OUT

SIMILAR SITUATION TO GATTI-DELAHOYA BUT WITH GATTI
BEING TOO SMALL.

I'd have to say, Gatti looked on top of his game that night. Even if you subtracted 10-15 pounds, I think he would've taken out Joey. Maybe the KO wouldn't have been so severe though...
